Life Liberty Happiness - 9.16.2026

In this episode of Life Liberty Happiness, Bryan Schley and Trent Warner reunite following Bryan’s Alaskan cruise, with Bryan sharing highlights from his trip, including stops in Seattle, Skagway, and Juneau.

The conversation turns to sports with college football upsets, NFL season openers, and NASCAR controversies before shifting to current events and politics. The crew discusses media bias in news coverage, the Lindsay Clancy murder retrial, President Trump’s political impact, and local Bedford County government.

The crew also takes on this week’s Mount Rushmore of States You’d Want to Visit, narrowing down 50 states to just four spots on the mountain. The episode also features TikTok shoutouts, sponsor mentions, and the new “Get Off My Porch” segment.

Real talk, real freedom. All right, everybody. Welcome back to hearing my voice. I know you're excited about that part. You're listening to Life, Liberty, Happiness. I am the host, Brian Sly, along with my cohort, Trent Warner. And Emma. Hello. Back there pushing buttons. Hello. Tell you what, I'm glad to be back here on this side of the table. Thanks for Travis and Jeff for filling in for me while I was cruising. They did remarkably. Their numbers are through the roof. The roof. Oh, my God. That was me, not you. That was me, not you. We're back to normal. That was me, I'm sorry. I forgot the card, but thanks to Ashley for handing out the cards on the cruise ship. I think our numbers went up remarkably because of that. Wait, give me nine seconds. More than nine. Nine? If you're a Lyft driver... in alaska and you're listening i'm glad you tuned me and i promise you it's not this slow. What are we what are we pausing for nine seconds about we're live something yeah what are we pausing seems like it's seems like we're. Great anyway we are live in the counts realty and auction towers here in beautiful bedford virginia visit counts auction.com the only true form of selling and buying um I got a nice email from Mr. Bryant today. Oh, really? Yeah. Very cool. Well, there's the little card. My wife made those and put them in parts of the ship. What? Yeah, look. And people took them. And on the back is the scan code. No one on the ship told you all to stop? Soliciting. When'd she make these before? Yeah. And I mean, she's painstakingly did it. I mean, you see the little dollar bills and a little wine bottles and dollar bill. Where'd she even get all this stuff from? I don't know, but, uh, yeah. And the cab driver, uh, cab lift driver, you know, he was telling us all about Alaska and stuff like that. And I was worried about libs and he said, ah, no, not here. Like, you know, Alaska's conservative. I asked him if he could fix the Markowski issue. And when do you get into talking about the trip? Oh. Are we doing it backwards and forwards or are we doing it? Yes. Jesus. Well, I'm just trying to figure out. Two weeks now you see him. I don't know if I want to ask you about Alaska now. All right. Moving on. Yeah. Doesn't even make the. Right. Well, I got to get you spacked in my chair. Yes, Alaska was the trip. How was the journey to and from and the ship? Honestly, I said that to my wife when we got back. I mean, everything seemed to go swimmingly. Alaskan Airlines, top notch. Like, I mean, absolutely top notch. top notch. Like, I don't know how you could have had a better flight. And that's from Seattle to Anchorage? No, it is. Alaskan Airlines flew from Dulles. Oh, okay. To Seattle. Okay. And then back from Seattle to Dulles. So you get on the ship in Seattle? Yes. Oh, okay. And it takes you up to Alaska. Oh, very cool. Yeah. And so just because I am horrible with geography, like if you were to, show me the united states and this is california yeah and this is virginia yeah and you say point to where you think idaho is right i'm going dead center. Right ain't even close i mean that's way out there. Yeah like but i'm terrible with geography yeah uh and so seattle oh all right seattle could be one of the top two cities maybe three in america okay It has the potential for all of that. And maybe at one time it was. But it has been overthrown. I mean, big time. You mean by the homeless? Oh, gosh. We took a cab, not an Uber or Lyft, but an actual cab from the hotel to the Space Needle. And that dude who grew up there and has lived there is like, Yeah, that used to be a nice office building. Now it's a homeless shelter. Yeah, that used to be the Walgreens. They left. That used to be, they left. That was a nice store. They left. And I'm like, are you serious? Like, and every building had graffiti. Yeah. Just, yeah, they've destroyed it. Wow. And, yeah, it's. Emerald City? Is that what Seattle is? Rains there a lot. Did it rain on y'all? No, we actually had really good weather. Their public transportation is horrendously bad. And you would think it would be better because there was so many choices, but that was the problem. Like you had rail system, you had light rail system, you had shuttle systems, but like none of it coincided. And so this one only went this many blocks. This one went, I mean, how the hell you get around? You would think that they would be so pro-mass transit that it would be a really well-run program. But I think that's what the problem is. They have so much mass, you don't know what to take. Like, if I go to D.C., I know we can get on the metro and pretty much go anywhere we want to go. Same thing in New York. Not here. You better be prepared to translate what goes where, because it'll take you and drop you off, and then you've got to figure out how to get somewhere else. Of course, you send the picture of standing at the Space Needle at the glass and Down at the thing. That actually made my knees buckle. Well, the first one you were like, yeah, that one is okay. The height, I can look out. I'm okay. It's when you then sent it down to your feet and showed the damn drop. Yeah, that was really interesting. Yes, Emma? Your wife commented. What? She said the cab was a Prius with 400,000 miles on it. Yeah. I thought it was neat. They use electric. I mean, that I'm okay with. It makes sense. That makes all the sense in the world. But yeah, the flight, I think, was perfect. The hotel, we had a great, cool hotel right outside the football stadium. And the baseball stadium is right beside it. Another oddity, all of that is like in the industrial side of town. There's like beside it, you know how Camden Yards, that grew area. Nah, this is like right outside of that is like a maybe a plant. And then, uh, I thought when you look out the outfield, it's not a downtown set setting. Um, that way, right. Good ways, but not in this area. Okay. That fools me. Like, yeah, it's, uh, definitely weird looking like gas tank, you know, big tanks and then shipyards. And that's, what's around it. Like there's no restaurants, you know, nothing around the stadium. Oh, wow. Yeah. Different. Yeah, for sure. So how long did you stay in Seattle before getting on the ship? We flew in a day early, so we had a full day in Seattle. And so we went to a Mariners game, which was so cool. Yeah, yeah. Great stadium. Yeah. Got to check that one off my box of stadiums I've been to. Really nice stadium. Yeah. A great crowd for, I think we were on a Thursday or something. Yeah. And I was like, wow, this is a great crowd for a Thursday game. How did they play? Oh, gosh. Why'd you do that? I can't remember. Sorry. I can't remember who they played. Oh, the A's. Oh, okay. Athletics. Okay. And so then the next morning, we got on the boat. That was all seamless, perfect. They had this little program called The Key that you buy, and it's supposed to be like a VIP thing. It wasn't very expensive. I want to say it was like $ 29 a day per person. Mm-hmm. But that gets you on the boat before everybody. Okay. So there was no lines. We literally walked straight in. And then our luggage was taken to our room first. So that all turned out great. We had a lunch. They have this welcome lunch. I'm thinking lunch. What do you think for lunch? If I'm on a ship? Yeah. Okay. I mean, first thing that came to my mind was burgers, dogs. Okay. Yeah. This was a filet mignon. Oh, good grief. Oh, yeah. It was decked out. Trying to starch you out, right? Man, so it was, yeah. So the cruise was fine. Royal Caribbean, I will say, is more of the classier. Yeah. Like, you're not going to find. You sent a picture that I ended up, or you sent a video that I ended up showing my friends later that night to ask them, what city would you guess you're in at this street? What street would they be in? And they figured you were in Canada somewhere. Yeah. And I don't know my geography of Canada. Sure. But I was like, no, that's actually the ship. Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah. It's just a main street and there's shops and stores and restaurants. And I'm like, this is just, it's so massive. Yeah. And that's not their biggest ship. Like, that's crazy to me. But the ship was fine. We had, we enjoyed that. But Alaska, Juno tourist destination. Kind of a, okay, you know, that's the capital of Alaska. I think that's right. It is. Well, of course, you know that. Yeah. So, but I mean, that was sort of touristy. And we got suckered into the touristy thing. And we went to a place called Tracy's Crab Shack. I paid the $ 200 for two legs, crab legs. Oh, my God. What got me, Trent, was. It was two crab legs that long. That's it. And there were buckets that had the whole crab with the legs coming out that you could buy. Yeah. Those were a thousand dollars. Oh my God. And Trent, there's a 30 minute line out the door and inside there's a bucket almost at every table. Wow. And I'm sitting here going, there's $ 50, 000 right here. Wow. I'm just, I can't believe people spend that kind of money. You know how I am. I'm like, eh. I mean, I wanted to try Alaskan crab. Yeah. So I wasn't expecting them to show up at the table with two legs. Yeah, that's ridiculous. That's wild. But Juno was touristy. We went to go see a glacier. Man. There's a window. There. That has a seat in front of it and you can look out at the glacier. It's a visitor center. So I'm sitting there looking out and in front of me is a TV that is showing from 2006 to current and it's the glacier getting small. Yeah. And I've got this old lady and the old man beside me and she says, and to think they don't believe in global warming. Yeah. And I just sat there for a second. And then, of course, you know me. I'm like, man, you would think we would be underwater by now with the glaciers melting into the water. Just because I'm a smart ass. Anyway, I'm just. So when you look at the map, that glacier goes on for miles. Right, right. I mean, miles, miles. And what's it like in the winter? I'm pretty sure that snapshot is just. Come back. Yeah. Yeah. Because it's closed during the winter, right? So anyway, there's so many neat facts. Skagway, the best place on earth, like the coolest. And we had a 22-year-old dentist student from Idaho, I think is what he said, who's studying to be a dentist, who was just– uncle lives in Alaska, so– He took on this tour bus drive, right? Okay. So you take a train ride up. So he takes you to the train depot, drops you off, and take a train ride up the mountain into Canada. And then he picks you up when you come get off the train. And he brings you back down to the town. So you take the train up. Or you could take the bus up and take a train ride back. It doesn't go both ways if you're doing a tour. He was hilarious. Did not give a crap what people thought. was funny as hell. Talked about hitting a bear and he's like, oh yeah, that thing helicoptered across the road. And some woman's like, oh my God, did it die? And he's like, yeah, yeah, I'm pretty sure it did. I'm just like dying laughing. He's just funny. Great, great guy. And someone said, can you drop us off in town or do we have to get off at the dock? And he's like, I'm supposed to drop you off at the dock, but Maybe I can drop them off and then take you to town. And then he's like, ah, what the hell? Tomorrow's my last day. What are they going to do, fire me? I mean, he was just crazy, but funny. You mentioned something about a town that the boat pulled up to, and you got 5,000 people on your boat. Yes. But the town only has 1,200 people, but then five boats show up, so it's like 25,000 people that show up. Dude, it's literally, that's Skagway. So he said, Currently, the town has about 1,200 people that work there. When the season's over with, that goes to about 300 to 500 people. Okay. And he said, so just to kind of tell you, the high school graduates about 4 to 12 people. He goes, matter of fact, this is the biggest year they've ever had. It's 12 people. Wow. And he said the cruise lines do a lot for the community. Like they built the gym for the high school. Okay. They pitch in to– You know, it's a port. So obviously they benefit from it. So he said each of the they will donate the ship for prom. Like when people get off, they'll do their prom at one of the venues. And he goes, yeah, they have a real blast. All four of them. Because that's how many is going to prom. So when you're there in that port, are you seeing other ships too? Oh, yes. They're coming in one right after another, man. And you're just talking about 25,000 dumping onto a city in one day. So when you're on the ocean, are you seeing other cruise ships going to Alaska? Yeah. Wow. Yeah. You see Virgin, which is, they're an adult only boat. There's one called Celebrity. It's a little more upscale. And then. I'm trying to think of the other ones over there. But anyway, you get those. So apparently there's a season. But anyway, we headed Skagway, I would recommend to anybody. It was such a cool place. The whole place was just neat. I saw some really cool videos you posted. Yeah, the train ride was remarkable. Just to think that people, you know, used to walk that and search for gold. I mean, that's what they were doing, you know. Did you ever look out in the water and think about the show Deadliest Catch? Like the frozen, like you're there in a time when it's not freezing. Yeah, they're more up in the Bering Sea. Yeah. So we really never, you come out of Seattle, which is in a cove, deep, and you go through these little areas and you finally get out to the Pacific Ocean. And you're only there up the coast for, and right off the coast, you know. Oh, really? Yeah, you're not deep in the Pacific Ocean. You're out there. I think a full day sailing. Yeah. And then you're back into a cove for most of the trips are in coves. Yeah. But it's neat. Yeah. We enjoyed the heck out of it. We had 60 degree weather the whole time. Now, the last port we didn't get off, that was Columbia, Victoria, British Columbia, which is in Canada. And we just, they really didn't look like anything to do other than tour the city. Yeah. And it just didn't look. So I'm like, eh. Yeah. So we decided to stay on the boat. Best decision we ever made. Yeah. Everybody was gone, man. I had the pool to myself. Yeah. I was in the hot tub. I was enjoying life. That's what I said. I'd done one cruise and it was down the Caribbean. And I swear, I just thought I wouldn't do the excursions. Yeah. Well, I leave. The food's here. The people are coming to bring me drinks. This was my vacation, this part. I did look the other day. There's a cruise ship called MSC. I think it is. And it's privately owned. It's the only privately owned. And they do a cruise. It's called a world cruise that I think is 260 days. I don't think I could do that. That's a long time. Yeah. I mean, there's a ton of ports, but still, it's a lot of sailing. Too many weather incidences and sea incidences. I would be worried about. Apparently, those are really, really, really uncommon. Yeah. Because they have... obviously technology that tells them and they can steer around these things. Man, I've seen so many videos of the waves up around the windows. Yeah. I'm like, man, there's no way I could be in that tin can. Yeah. I figured we were probably protected a little bit in Alaska. Yeah. So, yeah, it was really calm. Good. But, yeah, enjoyed the heck out of it and flew back, got to watch college football all the way back, you know. And I think I texted you. So I was, I forgot what game I was watching and I flipped it over and it was Notre Dame and Rice. And I was all excited. I was like, oh, this is awesome. First freaking play. I still haven't seen it. First freaking play. He hands the ball off to Davis Lane and I'm like, hell yeah. And he gets absolutely demolished. Like I was seriously worried for his like safety. And he laid unconscious for a little while. And then, of course, the guy picked up the ball and they scored off of it. And I was like, ugh. But, yeah, that was not good. Like, welcome to Division I at the highest level. That ain't good. But, anyway, the flight back was quick because I'm watching college football, you know. Yeah. It was, uh, where'd y'all fly into old Dallas. Back in the Dallas, which was, I mean, that was a cool little airport. It's not huge. Um, the one complaint I do have, and this is just me being spoiled. So because I was unfamiliar with everything and I didn't want to screw things up, I did valet drop off with my truck at the airport. Okay. So when you get back, they tell you to text a number and you know, Well, I text the number, and they tell me where to go to pick up my truck. Well, hell, if I had to walk to a damn parking garage, that's not valet. Yeah. I mean, and I literally walk into the building where the valet people are, and they're all sitting on a couch watching TV. And I'm like, yeah, I'm here to pick up my truck. And he's like, all right. So he grabs the keys, hands them to me. And I'm like, nothing about this is valet. Nothing. Just put it in park in the garage. And when you walk out, I'm pretty sure those three young people that were supposed to be working are supposed to bring my truck to the front. The point of the whole word valet. Yeah, I was not happy about that. Yeah. Especially because it was hot as hell when I got back. Take me back to the 60 degree weather. Wow. So anyway, yes, that was their... That was our trip, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Very cool. I recommend it. Please do it. Yeah. I know you're the type that absolutely next week you'll go, hey, dude, I did it. Yeah. But I'm just telling you, it's worth it. Yeah, that's cool. It definitely is. That is what our Mount Rushmore is, right? That's what I just wrote down. Yeah. Our places we want to go next. Yeah. The states we'd like to go. Yep. Go to. Yep. So you were at. Yes. So are we doing my backwards? Yeah. So I picked up Meemaw and Papa Sarge at my house. They drove up, my parents, and we got to go see their great grandbaby, first great grandbaby, my first grandbaby. We went to go down and see Carmen. She was the cutest little thing. That's cool. Yeah. We had a great time and interesting. I texted her on our way down Friday night and She said that Carmen gets a little fussy at night. So I said, well, we'll just see you in the morning because we didn't get down there until nine anyway. So we just went to the hotel and then went over and saw them Saturday morning. And I spent all day Saturday trying to get a baby to quit crying. We just all did. It was like in your hands, in your hands. And you just kind of forget how much that effort that is. Oh, yeah. Yeah. My mom said, I've never been so exhausted to sit in one spot in all my life just to try to keep maneuvering the baby into not crying anymore. And when she wasn't, though, she was about half the time she was crying, not to over-exaggerate that. But when she wasn't, that's the cutest damn little thing. And she's starting to get a little personality and character stuff. So it was great. But my dad, when we got back to the hotel, we went and ate. And I was like, hey, do you want to go back to the house? Or do you want to go back in the morning, Sunday morning? Or what? Do you want to hit the hotel? And they were like, I'm so exhausted. And so we were only four miles from the hotel and they were like, oh man, my dad, I think he went to. Bed at eight. My mom went to bed at nine and I fell asleep at 10. So yeah, we were exhausted. Yeah. I always looked at that like a backache. Like if you find the spot where it doesn't hurt and the same thing with a child, if you can just get the spot where they stop crying. Yeah. Yep. I can't move. It was a lot of that. A lot of, walking around bouncing around down but it was so cool it was great. Yep yeah i saw where you got your best nap you and her napping together. Yeah it just we're watching football the next thing i know my eyes are closed and uh she slept on me it was like it was the best nap that's so cool it was cute very cute and i guess emma work. No well i did dog sit it was a long weekend It was a long weekend. Dave and I went to Busch Gardens on Saturday. What? I just don't picture you up and going to Busch Gardens. I love roller coasters. Do you really? They got free tickets through work. Nice. Yeah, it was nice. What is the best ride? Because I haven't been to Busch Gardens in 20 years. I like the Verbolton. It's like they redid it, and so it goes inside, and then it drops on you, and then you keep going. Cool. I like that one. But then we got to two o'clock and realized we're old because we rode all the rides in three hours. So we came home. Oh, wow. Wow. And then his grandma died. So that was sad. And then my grandma was in the hospital with a brain bleed. And then my sister was in the hospital. Jeez. So. What's wrong with your sister? She had a really bad concussion. Oh, goodness. She had to go. So she's living now, sort of. Grandma's back home. Other grandmas. Is this why she's at Clemson? Oh, no. Sorry. Youngest sister who's 15. Oh, okay. In gym class, someone hit her. Oh, wow. Yeah. You had an eventful weekend. Yes. All on top of working. It's funny because David's grandmother, Mrs. Grant, I was having lunch today and two little old ladies were sitting beside me discussing something. The death of Mrs. Grant. Oh, Faye. And they were, was she a receptionist or something at a funeral home? I don't know. Because that's, they were just gossiping like, oh, yeah, that's her. Oh, she was such a sweet lady. And so anyway, I just, I had heard and I remembered seeing it on Facebook. So, yeah. Sorry to hear that. I'm assuming that is Stuart's mom. Yes. Okay. So, yes. All right. You got Nicholas's wedding this weekend? No. Ashley's nephew. Oh, okay. Which is my nephew, right? I guess. I don't know how that works. I just assumed. I read where you said nephew's wedding. Yeah. Is Nicholas already married? No. No? No, but he has a wonderful girlfriend. I hope he doesn't screw that up. She's a student at UNC. Very, very, very smart. Okay. Anyway, yeah, Seth is getting married this weekend. So we'll be attending that on Sunday, on a Sunday wedding. Interesting how all these weddings are on different days now. Yeah. It's coming up on a Friday. Friday, yeah. More and more, I guess, just trying to find these venues. Yeah. My school bus heads to Knoxville this weekend. Yeah, you got tailgating and everything. Yeah, we're going to start. Well, I've already started prepping for it a. Little bit, but yeah. And then we've got the big race next weekend. Yeah, I can't wait for that. That's going to be fun. Now, are you coming down just for the day, or are you coming down for– what are your plans? Or do you know? I'm going– well, I guess I'll text with y'all, but I'm assuming whenever y'all are going, I'm going. Okay. Oh, good. Yeah. I'm good with that. I guess the jury's– I've got to ask the warden. Oh, yeah. To make sure. Okay. Yeah. All right. All right. Moving on, I think, Emma, you got anything coming up this weekend? Oh, yeah, your dog's at work for like 30 people. Yes, that is valid. And my sister is coming in town, the one from Clemson, so we're going to hang out with her this weekend. Nice. That'll be fun. Hey, I threw this out the other day. This is probably for sports, but before I'm one of those who will forget it. Do we think Dabo will make it through the year? Yes. Okay, never mind then. My thing was Dabo would be great at L.U. Oh, yeah. That would be a perfect fit for you. The character he is and everything, yeah. It would be. And it would be a good, it just would be a good landing spot. Let's not fire everybody until you get it. Yeah, that's right. That's my neighbor. Oh, never mind. Great coach. That's your neighbor? Yeah. He's on the staff. Oh. I thought you meant the head coach. Not called him. Yeah. My dad died on that one. That's my dad. One of my favorite stories of all time. Yep. Anyway, on this, moving on to this day in history. This day in history. In 1908, General Motors was started. Cool. It was interesting. A guy named William Durant, who was a high school dropout, he was building these luxury horse-drawn carriages. Okay. And then moved. He actually hated the automobile industry because he thought it was nasty and wasn't prestigious. Yeah. But I guess he saw the future coming. So, you know, my father-in-law has all of these cars that he flips all the time, right? Guys in his late 70s and still works on cars, flips cars. He's just an amazing guy. He's also a farmer. So he was driving me by his wagon, I mean, by his barn on one of his farms. And in the barn was a horse-drawn carriage, like the carriage. Wow. And it says Chevrolet on it. Isn't that crazy? General Motors. Isn't that crazy? Yeah. So I am curious, because we all know Henry Ford and the Model T and all that. So what was Chevrolet or General Motors' first vehicle? Yeah. Like, I have no clue. That's a good Google question. We'll have to look that up. Hey, staff. Staff, get on that. I wasn't listening. Maybe Laura can look it up for us. What am I looking up? Don't worry about it. Just maybe you should pay attention a little bit more. I was eating my snack. Maybe you shouldn't buy her a snack. Yeah, don't buy me snacks. Okay. Sorry. My history. Do you want me to do a history or are you still? No, go ahead. It's funny how you know about history, but you don't know about history, right? I read this, and I was like, wait, what? So Teddy Roosevelt became president not because he was elected president. He was appointed president because he was the VP that William McKinley was killed. He was assassinated. He was shot in the stomach twice, McKinley, by a guy named Leon Choklizlov, who was an anarchist. Oh. Hmm. My, my, my. You know how everybody thinks today is whatever? Oh, dude. I mean, this is 125 years ago, the exact same issue. And this guy thought that McKinley was an arrogant guy that didn't care about the common people. So he's going to go kill him with a pistol. Wow. Shoots him in the stomach twice. God, McKinley died eight days later in agony. Shot in the gut eight days. And this dude was executed within 45 days. Hmm. The good old days. Yeah. So I thought it was very interesting. So Teddy Roosevelt ended up winning his next election in 1904. But he became president because he. Was the VP. And he was the guy that I liked. Teddy. Yeah. The Roosevelt that didn't bring all the social change. That's FDR. Yeah. Teddy Roosevelt was a different guy. All right. And he's got a documentary on Netflix that I really do want to see. Okay. Because he changed his whole career. Because he was a little fellow first, and then he became the guy with the big stick. Gotcha. All right. Moving on to drama. All right. Man, I have... Gosh, since I was gone, it was nice because I kind of compiled some episodes of some series. And so I got caught up on Reacher. Yeah. And listen... It's so funny because Reacher is not a series that you would like because it is so far-fetched. I watched verse two. Oh, okay. It's just some of the stuff that they do. I just think the acting is a little phony. He's a little phony. Yes. But I still watch it and like it. The books were good. Now, Lioness, a whole other level of greatness. I mean, that thing. You keep talking it up, and I just feel like I need to give it another chance. It's just because it hits home with exactly what's going on right now. Yeah. Like it's connection with Ukraine and Russia and just, it's like, it's almost like the state department is writing it currently. And it's still have women beating up 250 pound men. I'd say it's less of that. It's more of got me in the first season. Like, come on. I mean, they have a, I don't know. This is, I don't know. You'd like to check it out. Yeah. I love it. I think it's phenomenal series. Um, And then this is my married couple. If you're married and you want to stay married, you have to watch some of these shows occasionally. Could be why I'm not. It's a show called Best Medicine, and it's on Fox. Okay. It's in its second season. And if you can get over the white and black guy that's married that owns a restaurant. They checked all the boxes, didn't they? God, man. And it's just, it's, the show is kind of quirky and it's a, it's a. Are you watching this because Ashley likes that? No, just trying to find something that both her and I would watch. And I like it because I like the actor and actress. And so that piqued my interest. And then I watched the first episode and I'm like, man, it's pretty good. Okay. But it's a doctor who moves to a small village in New England, Maine. And he's like the doctor of the village, you know? So it's kind of, Kind of neat. I was worried when you weren't here because I don't know how to fill up two hours. So I told Emma and Jeff and Travis each of those weeks that I had to come with a lot of drama so I could have something to talk about. And I had like five shows. But you're here today, so I know I didn't really need any. So I didn't watch any. Football and tennis. Hey, I will say this about the West Coast. Yeah. Dude, I could get around living on West Coast time. Because all the games are done and you got your evening. Like you were complaining. I watched one of the greatest tennis matches of all time because it was 3.30 in the morning here. But damn it, it was still good time to watch tennis over there. Yeah, yeah. So that is what I– my weekend was– I watched more tennis than I did football. It was so great. Oh, it was incredible. Yeah. And what a wonderful– we finally– We, being America, we finally have tennis players on the rise. I think so. Yeah, I mean, the– The only thing. Was Center wasn't playing, so I don't know how that would affect everything. Yeah. Yeah, I know, but Center can't be around forever, right? He's a new guy. Yeah. It'll be interesting to see how we do. But Alcarez is phenomenal. That match with him and Ben Shelton. Unbelievable. Just seeing the highlights. I never did– I meant to record it, and I didn't. Yeah, what gives me hope about Ben is not just his ability to serve, but his ability to make shots. He's getting better and better. Yeah, and that was what was great to see. And then, of course, we have Tiafoe. I mean, he's still got a couple good years in him. Yeah, yeah. He's not going anywhere right now. But then we also had the guy that Tiafoe come back and beat. Yeah. He's young. Well, and then there was the 16-year-old that made it farther than anybody. Yeah. His name was Tien. Something like that? Yeah. Asian guy? Which is kind of crazy. I wasn't trying to be racist. I was like, man, I haven't seen an Asian person since Michael Chang. Michael Chang, yeah. And Warren said, you know, that's his coach. I was like, what? They never showed him in the stand. I never saw Michael Chang there. Wow. So maybe he's at his camp. The other guy that was supposed to... He was just in the finals, semifinals or finals last year. Taylor... Oh, Paul? Or Fritz? Fritz. Taylor Fritz. Taylor Fritz. I mean, you know. Before, we were holding our hopes on one American. Now we've got, you know. Well, Marty and I were really Tommy Paul fans. Yeah. Because of his wife. You see that woman? Yeah. Oh, my goodness. There was so much to watch in the U.S. Open. It was great this year. It really was. And here's what's crazy. The Zverev guy was boring to me because he just dominated everybody, and he's so good. And he's like 6'6. He's kind of like a. Medvedev, just this tall, long guy that has this great talent. But his post-win speech. Yes. Amazing. I was glad he won. Yeah, me too. I literally was like, man, I had no idea that that guy was that gracious. No, me neither. I thought he was cocky, arrogant. And then when he started speaking, it's like, oh, this dude's great. Yeah. And how cool was it that he won and had no clue? Yes. He went to go. Back to serve again or figure out, are we waiting on them to serve? And he said he was in such a zone. He was just trying to zone in on everything. Yeah. That is so amazing. That was great. Marty mentioned, she says that she loves best medicines. so it's on Fox I've never seen her watching it told you maybe y'all can watch together. That's a good recommendation. Anyway so I got nothing on drama alright. Moving on legacy acting media entertainment or lame news. Oh I see where you're going there. Alright ABC News Charlie Kirk family signals intent to sue alleges failure duh they should have done this a long time. Ago To sue the university? University. Oh, yeah, I think so. Obviously, there's a report out where the— They did not have security? That they were actually given areas that they were concerned about, and the university refused to do anything. Yeah. NBC News, Federal Reserve decision expected today, which I think came, and they raised the interest rates. And— You know, that is a sign that the economy was strong. right yeah yeah i and that that is what i'm really upset about and trump and i've watched uh do you ever watch the old lady that comes on um facebook reels a lot um my mom sends me her stuff all the time the prometheus or something like that they're a group oh man this woman is so sharp but Trump trying to replace the Federal Reserve guy is trying to replace him with this guy that doesn't use interest rates to penalize people. And that's what we've been doing for 30 years. Every time the economy is strong, we have to slow it down. And the person that's slowing it down is the one that's always making money. Right. So, yeah. Yeah, but I mean in this case yes i'm agreeing with you i think donald trump comes from it the way he often does which is from a business side which is he was a builder and a developer and yeah you know high interest rates is not good for For any of that market. Right, exactly. And he's right about that, by the way. And so, yeah, we need to definitely head in the right direction, and we've got to get to fuel prices. That's just– and I know he said that– and he's probably right. After the election, they'll drop like freaking– They think that, and this is not just us, this is foreign interference. I mean, they believe it too. Hey, if we can get him under control, then we'll just drop. I'm not stupid. I know that's what's happening. Of course. NBC News, or excuse me, CBS News, ICE deportees in Africa. So CBS News literally went to Africa to interview ICE deportees. Seriously. Yeah, yeah. Say that they feel stranded on the other side of the world. You didn't have to leave where you came from. Yeah, yeah. You could have stayed there. So they found the immigrants that we've deported to other countries and how awful it is that we sent them to a different country. Do you think they interviewed any of the rape victims that have been raped on our end? No. Of course. No. And they can find them here. Yeah. You don't have to travel to Africa. You just walk out of your little news media and find it on your local street corner. That's right. Idiots. All right. Yeah. So my TikTok shout out this week. TikTok shout out. Nice. Oh, is that her bumper? Man, that's awesome. This week is. Why the look, Emma? Because I hit the wrong thing. This week's TikTok shout out is Bar Ranch 7 or Bar 7 Ranch. So this is one I've watched for a long, long time. It's a guy and his wife and kids or whatever. And they just, they, they don't come from ranchers. They became ranchers. And it's just dude watching him fail through his processes. It's kind of like your boy Clarkson. Yeah. But, but real life, like, you know, people like us just trying ranching, but he always puts these videos out, but he's also funny too. But, This is Bar 7 Ranch. Go ahead. This is called Fence Fixing 101. Life hack. Put a rock in front of it. Do you like sheep? I hate them. I was contemplating as I drove over here. I think I'm just going to catch them all Saturday and sell them. Cody! Bye. Five or ten cows to replace them. All, then I don't have to jack with them no more. I'm serious. I'm serious. I feel like that's a little drastic. Their inability to stay where they're supposed to be outweighs their effectiveness at. Doing their job. You do have a hole as big as a sheep right here. It just keeps popping around. There's less grass over there than there is right here. Look. Why? What do we need to go over there? Because there's these cute cows over there. Dude, sheep. Oh, cuties. And what do you do with sheep? You got to shear them. Yeah. Have you ever seen that? No, I haven't. It's awful. I wouldn't try that. That's good. That's good. I wouldn't try that for nothing. But it's just all these little videos. This was another quick little video of him making fun of his wife. He cracks me up. Go ahead. She's little compared to him. What did y'all say? What are you going back for, Clance? Watermelon. Okay. So two things to look for. Yellow spot. Big yellow spot. The darker yellow, the better. And then make sure it's got stretch marks. Mom, pull your shirt up and show him so he knows what to look. For. That's rude. No. That's rude. That's hilarious. Anyway, that's my TikTok for this week. Good old farming. Yeah. I sent Emma another video of last week's TikTok shout out. The dance lady. Mm-hmm. The Russian. Mm-hmm. Just wondered if Emma got to watch it. Oh, yes, I did. Yeah. I thought it was funny. It's this lady that I think. She kind of creeps me out. I watched. She looks like, I just imagine that's what Emma does on her downtime. I don't have downtime, so that doesn't happen. She didn't have enough room to dance in her house. Well, there's no room in that thing either. Ugh. Oh, man. TikTok shout-out is brought to you by State Farm. Need insurance in Bedford? Big games all up and down the board. Biggest game, obviously, was Texas and Ohio State. Fell asleep. That sucked. Yeah. I gave up on it. They were down 20 in the fourth quarter. I was like, ah, go ahead. I have to admit, I did the same, but then I flipped it back when the last series— And I was like, holy cow. Like, I didn't think it was possible. And then they did it. And it was like, wow. Yeah. So, obviously, Texas pulls off the upset. I call it an upset. I bet Ohio State didn't drop very far there. They dropped, what, to four? Okay. Yeah. Not bad. Although, we have become soft as a nation. It is just. The whole, I'm sure you saw the interview or the lack of afterwards. Oh, yeah. When Holly Rowe tried to get the interview. Yeah. And he sort of blew her off. I guess, did you see Monday where Manning did the press conference where he talked about the AI video? Yeah. Okay. Why are we apologizing? I think you should have apologized for that one. What? What? I read it to my mom. The quote, my mom was like, oh, I was like, man, you know what? I don't think I would read that to you and want my son to say that either. Yeah, but he's talking about an AI video. Right. But he described how cool it was that she got slapped. OK, but if we if we do it, wait a minute before you go there. I just read it. If we do an interview with Manning. Yeah. And he talks about Kirk Herbstreit getting smacked in a video. Right. Are you calling your mom and saying he should apologize? It's not the same thing, buddy. But it is. How is it the same thing? Slap a woman? Come on. It's an AI video. Right. We've become. He described that he thought that was funny. It is funny. Okay. It's your opinion. It's not being weak. It's like, how about some respect and courtesy? How about some of that today? Or not. Yeah, I wouldn't want my son saying how cool that was that Sarah got slapped on the sidelines. Sarah does it for a living. Okay, but at the same time, I don't think Sarah has the issue. Holly didn't say anything about it. She actually said, hey, I'm okay with the apology. Thank you. Okay. Good article. We'll see if that remains. All right. If Sarah and Buddy says that they laughed that Sarah got slapped. We'd have some words. Okay. Yeah. All right. I just, different standards. Okay. So, anyway, moving on. Moving on. Glad I asked your opinion earlier, since you are a female. Michigan really surprised me this weekend. Oregon falls to Oklahoma State. So the Michigan actually is where I made up my fan duel this week. I had a feeling that Oklahoma was going to walk into a buzzsaw there. Really? Against Oklahoma State? Yeah. Wow. No, no, the Michigan-Oklahoma game. Oh, yeah, yeah. No, Michigan surprised me in beating Oklahoma. Yeah. And then I was blown away that Oregon lost because everybody's pick, preseason pick, was Oregon. I always like that the play of the year happens in the first week. That quarterback flying from yard three in the air like Superman. That was pretty cool. That's crazy. Yep. All right. So, obviously, moving on to this weekend. Yep. The big game is LSU and Ole Miss. Yep. I am setting aside my time for that one. Is that at Ole Miss? It is at Ole Miss. Wow. And Ole Miss did what– what I would think is smart. So they served papers on the two former LSU players that transferred over to LSU. Okay. So they got served papers in the parking lot going to practice this morning. For what? They're suing them for back pay. Oh, okay. I was like, That's where we live now. Sure. But I don't, I mean, obviously that's done on purpose. Yeah. I mean, so the question keeps going back and forth. I know Feinbaum hates Kiffin, so I can never take his opinion. So I'll ask yours. Is the pressure on Ole Miss or is the pressure on LSU? That's a great question. I would say it's, I mean, Ole Miss doesn't want to lose to Lane Kiffin. Lane Kiffin wants to prove that LSU's ready. I got you. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, realistically, going into the year, before any games played, I had said that a three-loss season would be a win for LSU this year. Shoot, I don't see them ever losing. But as well as they've played, The expectations, I think, have changed. And so I do think there is pressure, but I think Lane Kiffin is right. Don't you think the team that went to the playoffs that has the returning two Heisman candidates has the pressure to win this weekend? I don't know. I think what I'm more interested in is who's going to ride with Lane Kiffin on the bus to the game. Because last week he had. The. Influencers, the gymnast lady and some other blonde. And then last week it was Lil Wayne. Yeah. So that's become the storyline of who's walking with Lane to the game. And I'm wondering if it would be Eli Manning. That would be really hilarious. Did you see where Ed Ogeron was sick? Uh-uh. Somebody had asked the question because he's the offensive analysis guy. offensive line analysis coach or whatever. He brought him back too. Yeah. Which I think is cool. But somebody had asked about his health. And Lane said, you know, we shouldn't have joked about it, but Ed always told me he wanted to die on the football field. Well, apparently he had a issue. And he never would say what the issue was. And finally I read last night where he's out of the hospital. He had sepsis. He's been in the hospital for 18 days. Oh, wow. And just got out. I mean, that's a little scary when you think of Kurt Busch. Yeah, that's what I said. So, anyway. Kyle Busch, yeah. Moving on, Houston and Texas Tech. That's a big game. That's a huge game. That's a decent game, yeah. Florida State-Bama. I thought that was a pretty good matchup based on last year. Yeah. Florida State losing already kind of makes it suck. Norville, he's out. That might be a guy that doesn't make. It through the year. Yeah, I mean, they just made the change as athletic director. Yeah. So that's gotta be next, right? I mean, you're not, you're not making that change without, uh, SMU Louisville is huge. That's a big game. You want to talk about two quarterbacks. Those two quarterbacks are phenomenal. Yeah. Love it. Uh, Michigan state, Notre Dame. That's always one. So Notre Dame does that thing every year where they lose one that you don't expect, but it's Michigan state needs to do something. They haven't done anything in forever. Michigan state has the new coach that I like. Uh, I think he's the guy that got fired from Northwestern for no reason, and he sued and actually won. Oh, wow. So I like that guy. I think I'm right about that. Okay. Can you look that up, Emma? The Northwestern head coach? I like that guy. You're saying he's the Michigan State head coach, right? Yeah, he was the Northwestern. So, yeah, you'd be looking up Michigan State head coach. Fitzgerald guy. Yes, I think it is. Pat Fitzgerald. I love that guy. Yeah. So I will be pulling for Michigan State then. Well, Notre Dame was my pick to win it all, so hopefully they'll get it. I really like that coach. Speaking of coaches I like, I love that coach. Freeman, pretty good. Yeah. Yeah. And then we got the big matchup. Here's what I don't understand. WVU and UVA are going to play again. Why can't you just play at your school? Oh, is it a stupid venue? They're doing it at Charlotte. I hate when these college teams are doing this. I think Georgia Coach brought it up a couple years ago. Like, we should be playing. Yeah. Not in Atlanta. We should be playing at each other's. I don't get that. I don't get what. I mean, I'm sure it's money, but good grief. Why can't you play? Renew the old rivalry. Absolutely. That they had and do a home and home and then see how it works out and just keep doing it. It's absurd. I don't know why they're doing that. And plus, whoever's making the games for UVA, Friday night? Why are you going up against high school football? Yeah. I don't understand that at all. Yeah, the Texas Techs coach was really complaining about that. Yeah. Because he said, you know how big high school football is in Texas. Oh, yeah. It's like, why the hell are we playing on a Friday night? And the ACC had like four or five games last weekend doing it. I don't get it either. I'm not sure why they're doing it. All right. NFL. Yep. It's back. Emma's a big NFL fan. Speaking real quick on the college. You know who I lost my parlay? There's no way you could have convinced me that Duke was going to beat Illinois at Illinois. I told you that guy is a joke. That got me. Oh, the big fella? Yes. I don't know. He just keeps thinking he's going to win. He never does. Well, he didn't that time. I lost my parlay. Duke, how does that guy keep winning? Yeah. I mean, we keep thinking that it's like a fluke. Yeah. You know, he beats UVA, which was a fluke. I'm like, I mean, you know, and you're like, how does he? Yeah. But he is. Yeah, the NFL did come back. The Bills was shocking to me because everybody was picking Texas, you know, the Texans to be really good this year. And I think they were thinking that the new hire in Buffalo would, you know. Mm-hmm. But, hell, they looked good. Yeah. You know, Texans are like one of those teams. You just wonder why they can't win that game. Yeah. They just seem to lose it. I guess Buffalo does against the Chiefs, too. But, anyway, I think this is the. Middle of the year. I think the Chiefs were surprising to me. Yeah. How good they looked. They looked great. You know what really sucked about that? I lost that parlay. You know why? I just needed three points to go over. What was the final score? Neither team scored in the fourth quarter. I just needed a field goal. It was the Chiefs killing the Broncos. Which was my pick for the Super Bowl. Broncos? One game doesn't make sense. Oh, yeah, especially NFL. But I will say this. It was noticeably uncomfortable for the coach of the Broncos, the guy from the Saints. Yeah. He's not doing the. calling anymore oh peyton peyton sean peyton he looked so uncomfortable just sitting there listening to somebody else making the calls and you could almost see his face like what are we doing i don't know that he's gonna last not making the calls so. Well the cowboys and the redskins watched both of them and pretty much came up with the same conclusion another normal season why can't we just take a step forward and i listen i'm a cowboys fan and i was right there with you I love watching the Giants. Mm-hmm. They are so fun to watch. Yeah. And now with Harbaugh. Yeah. Like, you just get to feel. Like, I did get tired of Chris Collinsworth talking about, you know, the toughness. Yeah. Okay. Just because you say they're tougher now doesn't mean they're tougher. Yeah. But I do love the Scataboo. I mean, yes. The whole Dart Scataboo thing could be legendary. Yeah. Mm-hmm. If they stay healthy. Yeah, so it was fun to watch that. And NASCAR's back this weekend. Yeah. Had a good race. I mean. Oh, I couldn't stand it. I thought that was the worst race of the year. The cautions just were. Now, see, I only watched... the last 50 laps or so okay and it was like they could not make more than five so maybe the race was decent during the middle of the race but man it seemed like every time somebody tried to make a four wide why are you doing that you just reckon. Somebody i don't get it either and what i didn't understand is i watched just like you and i did a few minutes ago i watched on a podcast of old tommy ball one who used to be the crew chief for uh ward burton who has a very short fuse And Freddie Kraft, who is the spotter for Bubba Wallace, I watched them get into a shouting match over whose fault it was in the wrecks the other day. And Freddie is taking up for his driver as he should. And Tommy is just going, you're on the rumble strips. Yeah. You're not supposed to pass there. Yeah. Like the first time it didn't work. Did you think it was going to happen? And I mean, he's just, it's not his fault. And I thought they were going to come to blows yelling at each other. Yeah. But yeah, it was 13 cautions. Now, if you're Bubba and you're involved in two of them, you don't do a post race, uh, uh comment where you say you're embarrassed for the sport you were in two of the 13 yeah but anyway it's. Uh well it's going to be more of it this week oh my gosh so travis mentioned that he's going to bristol this weekend So he'll have to listen to the picks today. Well, so did I want your opinion on this? Because, uh, it was a big story on Bristol or, uh, what happened after the race in Illinois or wherever they were. Okay. So hosts of our asked them to unlock the gates so he could go back in and sign autographs. Okay. And apparently he stayed till everybody got signed and left. And I heard one of the NASCAR people talking about like, I don't think people understand this is why they love him. And this is why they don't like the other ones. And what he was saying was, he said, you keep asking him to change and, He's not going to put your collared shirt on. Yeah. He's not going to say the right things you want him to say. He's going to do what the fans ask him to do. I just can't even stand listening to a telecast anymore. Jeff Burton, like, trying to mentor him again. Shut up. Like, he doesn't have any marks on his car. Come on, man. Like they don't get it. Yeah. They just, they don't get who the people are. I sent you a really cool clip. There's a guy that I follow on Facebook. I started to watch it, but it was long since I just didn't have time. Yeah. His name's Girdley. Yeah. He goes over all these businesses that rise and fall, and he studies why they failed. He does such a good discussion about NASCAR, and he doesn't know anything about NASCAR. He's doing an independent research. I wish they would listen. It was really good. Yeah, yeah. What's even better about that is on that Facebook reel is to go through and see people's comments. They are so spot on. It isn't dumb stuff. It's like people really saying why they don't go to NASCAR anymore. So, yeah. All right. Uh, we'll have our picks later on coming up. Um, High school ball. I've been starting to put that on the last couple of agendas because we're getting into the high school season. But I saw this week, if anybody's listening and cares, tomorrow is the game. And maybe everybody's doing that. And maybe they've called for it. But I did see a headline that said JF is hosting Liberty Bedford on Thursday night and not playing Friday night because of rain. Weather. Yep. And then we've got LCA at Amherst, which I guess could be a good one. But Heritage and Glass is always a good one. The Heritage and Glass would be a great game. Yeah. JF and Liberty won't. Liberty's kind of– I'm not sure. I need to talk to the head coach and figure out if they've got some injuries or what. Because, you know, they led the district in rushing last year. And they've got the number one running back back, but they don't seem to be putting up a lot of points. So I'm not sure what's going on there. But maybe I'll try to find out. All right, but finishing up with baseball. By the way, they're still playing a baseball season. Oh, yeah. Just so you want to know. I found this clip of one of yours and my favorites, John Kruk. Yes. I guess he's still an announcer for the Phillies. Oh, okay. And so, dude, you'll love this clip. This is John Kruk, and this is baseball, and this is what happens when you have a long season. Go ahead, cut one. Did I tell you the name of the Chinese place I ordered food from yesterday? Remind me again. I will after there's a lull in the action. Two and two, outside three and two. This is no lie. I can't get fired for saying this. Right. But the name of the Chinese place ordered some dumplings and some shrimp lo mein. Big Wong. Like Big Bad John. Similar. Big Wong. Big Bad Wong. I mean, as soon as I saw it on the list of Chinese dumplings, places to get food, I said, I got to get it from there, right? Absolutely. 3-2 fouled off. How was it? It was delicious. How could it not be? Steamed dumplings. Very healthy. Lomé, I love Lomé. I could eat Lomé every night. Is John Crook one of those guys? Yeah, he was the one talking about ordering the Chinese food. Dude, Because you and I watched him play. Yeah. I mean, as he sounds is as he played. Yeah. John Kruk was so much fun. So that's part of the thing about baseball that they screwed up, too. You had baseball tonight. You had the best people. You had Harold Reynolds. You had John Kruk. They had people. They had characters that talked real baseball. And they got rid of all of them for guys that you can't understand. Yeah. Dude, you hit the nail on the head. And I have Latin Americans. Right. Yeah. To do what? We're going to grow the sport. We're going to go play in Mexico next year. You've lost your fan base. Yeah. Because you're right. I couldn't wait. You had web jams. You had everything, Joe Morgan. Like you said, Harold Reynolds used to have the best stories. Yeah. Nothing. You don't get any of that. Right. You know, I heard a headline, and it was an Oriole. Last night, a guy, Pete Alonzo, hit his 300th home run, right? That's a pretty big feat. It's kind of like hitting your 3,000th hit, not quite that important, but 300th home run. And I'm going down the road, and it's an Oriole. And I'm thinking to myself, this is probably the first 300 home run hitter I've never heard of. That's how much I'm out of baseball now. I have no idea. And I know it was a New York Met that came to the Oriole, but good grief. I miss the stat life. Yeah. That's what I loved about baseball was stats. And today they've sort of, they've. They've flooded us with too many. Thank you. It's too many. Yeah. I mean, to me, batting average. And I, yes, I know all the other stuff matters, but not to the average player or watcher. Just give me averages and home runs. Yeah. How many doubles this year? That's what I want to know. Yeah. Like I told you, like the guy that everybody, anybody who watches baseball right now, If you came across a Reds game, you're going to love De La Cruz. How he wasn't in the All-Star game is beyond me. And you're going to give me these stupid off-the-wall stats that nobody cares about. That's right. All right. Yep. Moving on to what's happening. It's time for news. Man, I saw this article and the first thing that popped in my head, like I normally do, when I read these stupid headlines and I think, God, this is stuff that Trent and I talked about a long time ago or like stuff that's old. It's like they're regurgitating headlines. Like, why is there more information coming out on Trump's assassination attempt? I didn't know there was. Oh, it's huge. It's like the failures are so bad that. It almost is like on purpose. So they're writing these articles about, you know, newly released. Which guy? The Crooks guy or the golf guy? The Crooks. Okay. New information on him. He should have been, you know, vetted. Obviously, they should have known about this. And, you know, there was supposed to be somebody there on the roof and blah, blah. All this other stuff that. to me is just news. It's not news. It's just, why are we regurgitating this stuff when it doesn't make a difference? Nobody's, nobody's. Good grief. He must listen to the show. So nobody is getting fired. Yeah. Nobody's going to jail. So why, why, why even produce the daggone? Yeah. Thing. I don't get it. If you really wanted to do something, if you really want to do real hearings, have people that, you know, tell the story of crooks. Yeah. I mean, I learned more from Tucker Carlson doing research than I ever heard from any investigation. Yes, just do research and then show us. Don't release a stupid report in Congress that somebody has freaking wrote because I don't want to hear it because I can't trust that it's even true. Agreed. Midterms are approaching. Yeah. Gas prices are still high. Yeah. Like that's got I don't know. It doesn't look good. And I but yet I'm sick of I don't know what for the first time going into election. I feel doom and gloom. Oh, really? Yeah. I was like, there's zero chance. I'm thinking the opposite. And yet I'm reading these experts telling me the opposite. And I'm like, there's no way. Yeah. But then I look at the right or the left and I go, you're all stupid. Yeah. Like everything you're preaching right now is dumb. Yeah. That's why I got hope. You hope. But then you've tried to like I'm in Seattle. I've got local people telling me how horrible it is. And I'm thinking you elected these people. Yeah. Yeah. Over and over and over. Dumb. It's like people who run for election in Chicago. Yeah. And complain about a Republican. He hasn't been in office for 30 years. Have you seen who's the news guy that gets all the fraud? Nick Shirley. Love that guy. Okay. Have you seen the one that he's released where they're standing underneath the rails? I mean, literally, dude. The only rail that's been built is like hundreds of feet. I want to see it. He's standing on it talking to a congressman from California, talking about how much. $ 18 billion. $ 18 billion. Dude, we have just been... And then I see a video of Newsom talking about running for president. Have you seen that video where he's fishing? Yeah, yeah. Fly fishing. Fly fishing. I had to check with my kids, and we were, shut up. Yeah. So he says he's not going to run if... Kamala runs. Let me just tell you right now. I don't know what it is, but for some reason they're pushing John Ossoff. He's going to be the nominee for the Democrat Party. From Georgia? Yeah. The guy with pajamas. Yeah. So the theory on that, I'm pretty sure, is what happened in the 70s. I love that Victor Hanson Davis guy. I do love him. Fantastic. Very, very intellectual. He said that the Democratic Party is just like it was in the early 70s. And it's gotten so far left wing that the way they came back to the center was they found Jimmy Carter. They found Bill Clinton and they found Al Gore. You had to find a Southern Democrat to kind of bring it back in. And so that's probably why they would look at Ossoff. But he's left. Yeah. There's nothing center. That's what they run in the center, though. They'll run in the center. So that is interesting. Maybe they're just playing from that playbook. But what Clay Travis said is the reason why Gavin Newsom isn't going to run right now, they're doing what they've done, is just say that we're going to have a primary without any candidates. Oh, my God. So there isn't a primary candidate debate. So they're picking it behind the scenes without having anybody run. That party is so screwed up. It's just the elites doing what the elites want. All right, we'll skip through Seattle because we've already talked about them. Okay. I don't know. There was a part of me that said, I live in my bubble in Bedford, and then I see other places and I think, God, man, you couldn't move with the liberals. Everything. Everything. I mean, we're sitting in our hotel and we look out the window. And there's a group of people walking dressed as dogs, cats. And I'm just like, this is just normal to them. And how did we get there? But one of the cool places that I didn't mention. Trump saved our country. There's no doubt. Those were the people that were leading our country. I know. That's the scary part. We were getting ready to go through that whole woke and social media and all of that. This was a conversation I wanted to mention to you quickly. One of the coolest places we saw in Seattle was the Public Market, which is downtown where they throw the fish. Yeah, so we ate at a restaurant. And that's also where Starbucks started. So Pike Place is where that street is. And so that's how it got its name, obviously, Pike Place. But we're sitting at the table, and beside us, a young group of people come in. And they're talking, they obviously work at a business center or something nearby. I don't know what type of work, but they were dressed up, so I'm assuming they were, you know. They're talking about the city. And the guy says, so what do you think about the levee? Well, if I said that to you, you're thinking like water, dam, right? And he says, what do you think about the levee? And the guy goes, I just don't know enough about it. He goes, yeah, but I see the opinion polls say it's a pretty good deal, so I'll probably vote for it. And he goes, yeah. He goes, I guess it's not bad to pay that extra. So they don't call it a tax. They call it a levy. Oh, okay. And so you get rid of the bad tax name, and you just give it a different name. Yeah, yeah. But the scary part, Trent, was they were talking about a billion-dollar renovation to an armory. But it's not going to be an armory because that would look– they wouldn't be able to raise the money. Nobody would vote for that. And that's why he said it's formerly the armory, but they're going to turn it into a public square. Oh, okay. And they need a billion dollars for this. And I'm just like, and you're going to vote for it. Yeah. Because he said others say it's a good idea. Yeah. Who? What? You're willing to pay for that. Shout out to John Sharp. I need to tell you that guy. He's at the Bedford County Board of Supervisors, right? Last night I went to the Regional Water Authority, and he's on the board there. And so last weekend, apparently a lot of water main breaks happened in the town of Bedford. One of them was right in front of DW's house. And I'm just there just listening, and I fly on the wall. But I really appreciate what John Sharp said. So with the 30 people that had to help fix this weekend and all the overtime, It costs the BRWA like a hundred grand for a weekend labor and all the stuff that they had to buy and pave. I think there's like a 50,000 in paving on that too. So anyway, they had to spend all that. And somebody said, well, the reason it happened potentially is because the fire department was testing hydrants. And because of the old lines, they weren't closing them slowly enough. They were just opening and slowing and the water hammer is what was causing the breaks. So they said, Well, if we're going to spend $ 100, 000 on that mistake, why don't we just hire somebody to do the valve opening and closing for them? That's what somebody on the board said. And John Sharp said, wait a minute. We spent $ 100, 000 this weekend. Bad problem. Bad problem. How about education? The guys is doing it because the town is doing it themselves. It's their fire marshal. The problem is if we hire two people and pay them $ 50, 000 so that we have somebody to do that, now we're paying $ 100, 000 every year. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. The one-time thing sucks, but let's not hire somebody to fix something, and now we've got to pay that same expense every year. Yeah. Because it could still happen. And he's exactly right about that, but also there's grants for that. Yeah. That you can get through the fire department. Okay. Whereas if you go hire somebody, you're probably not going to be able to get those grants. Gotcha. Well, it was interesting, and I was glad that we have people that are stewards of our tax dollar and our fees. Right. So shout out to John for doing that. I liked the conversation. It was very professionally done. All right. Oh, you got a bumper? Yeah. Get off my porch segment. It's a new Trent Warner segment. Jeff Rupert segment. Now you get your raggedy ass off my porch. Go on. Get off my property. Now! Now! Oh, I just can't help myself, man. You might want to look into Clint Eastwood's Get Off My Lawn. Okay. You know what I mean? That wouldn't have the cuss word at all. I guess it's not good enough. Well, man, can't we just have a discussion about it? I worked hard. Get Off My Lawn. Anyway, go ahead. You can't help yourself. Yeah. Apparently neither can I. I'm just kidding. Dude, I go through the drive-thru the other day. Yeah. And, dude, there's nothing that– I've gotten to that age where I don't care if it's uncomfortable if somebody's in the car with me or whatever. I'm just going to say what's on my mind, and I don't understand. If I go through the drive-thru, and I get there, and I hand you my credit card, and you run it, and you have the receipt in your hand with my credit card, and you look at me and go, what did you get? You think the answer's there? I just said, it might be on that receipt that's in your hand. Yeah. And, dude, they pissed off look at me. It's because they don't want to read. It was easier to ask than it was to actually look at something. Well, first of all, what really pissed me off was after I said it, he looks and he goes, okay, I got the Whopper, right? With cheese. Oh, okay. I was going to say, no cheese. No cheese. No, I get home. It's not what I got. No kidding. What pissed me off was he literally had the bag with chicken and he goes, nope. He goes, he got the whopper or whatever. So then the lady hands him the bag and he doesn't look, he just hands it. Yeah. And so I said, even after all that, you would think he would look. Yeah. So I'm like, surely it's right. No, it wasn't. It was a bacon, which, you know, I don't eat bacon. Yeah. So it was a bacon cheeseburger. Oh, God. And I'm like, God, man. Like you're already paying a lot. Yeah. That's the problem that I really have is I'm paying, you know, these absorbent amount of prices. And yet I'm still getting shitty service. Marty always likes to look in the bag to see if it's all there before we leave. I never do that. Oh, I'm going to start. I just head on down the road. I'm right there with you now, Marty. Like, it's pissing me off. But that's my... that's my get off my porch lawn. So mine, the thing that irritates me, it just happened to me this week too. So it was last weekend. I'm with the baby in one hand and I get the text message that says, because of your appointment on Monday, you know, like a little wellness thing and renew a prescription. That I have to go through and I have to do the pre thing. So fill out all this stuff again before you show up to doctor's office. Okay. I sort of appreciate that because I also don't want to sit there before I go in there. If I have to do it all before I go in there, that's cool. Yeah. The problem is it's, I have to redo the same things I've done before. I have to fill out the same stuff before. If it's the same software, why am I having to say anyway? Yeah. So I go through and I did get all that done and I, Because I had my wallet out. When I put it on the couch, I forgot to put my wallet back in when I took off to the store after I let the baby go, right? So anyway, it was a big ordeal there. And so I get to the doctor's office and my prescription, I go to CVS right up above the road. They have no idea what I'm talking about. Oh, my God. They sent my prescription to their preferred vendor, which is supposed to be a mail-in. Vendor. What if I'm filling all that out? Why aren't you using what I give you? Yeah. It's just, come on, dude. Like I had no idea what you meant by preferred until, because I've had this issue too, but I just chose this local CVS because my, my doctor will say what pharmacy and I'll say CVS main street. And he goes, okay. But then I had this issue where I saw where Amazon, well, they'll just bring it. And I thought, maybe I'll just try Amazon. Yeah. Good luck. Like they kept saying no. Because of prescription? Well, my doctor wouldn't, you know, prove it. And then come to find out, like when you mentioned the preferred. So I said something to the lady at CVS. I was like, look, I use the app because y'all tell me to use the app. What sucks is when I get at the drive-thru, you ask me my birthday and everything else. When the app says, use the scan code. And when I give you the scan, you say, you just give me your name. Well, what's the purpose? So she, I said, why is it that every time I go to order prescription, you say that you have to ask my doctor, even though it says it's two refills left. And she said, because we're not the preferred vendor of your doctor. And I'm like, Trent had mentioned that. I'm like, you mother. So this is a mail-in group out of Roanoke that was going to mail it to me. And they said it was for my ease. Well, you don't know what my ease is. My ease is to just drive by the one that I can drive by every day. That's my ease. Don't become my ease for me. And I'm sure there's a kickback in some way, shape, or form that that preferred vendor is getting some kind of deal to the whoever. Anyway, that was my get off my porch. Because I had asked one time about the 90 day prescription, because just like you, the preferred was a mail-in. So I got a mailed all of a sudden. Well, they, they come in 90 day, uh, bottles, which was kind of nice. I didn't have to redo for three months. Yeah. Well, that all went away when they changed preferred vendors. And then I had, that's how I ended up starting to use CVS because their preferred vendor was Screwed up my medications twice. Wow. And so I was like, to hell with the 90-day crap. But then I asked CVS, and they said they couldn't do 90 days. And I'm like, oh, my God. Y'all are just– why can't we go back to the local pharmacy that knew you by name? Yeah. All right. Moving on. Let's see. What is next? Win-win-win. All right. Yeah. I've got a win-win-win. This is our president. We're going to win-win-win. And we're going to make it. People should know. Great again! He is still working. Go ahead. So for the first time ever, we're going to give farmers and ranchers the right to process their own food. We're creating a program where small and medium-sized and large ranchers can sell their products directly to consumers so that they don't have to go through the big four, processors and middlemen. This order also will require country of origin labeling across all foreign beefs are what we're doing. The farmers are processing their food, and I'm signing an order authorizing ranches to protect rural communities and cattle herds from the predatory Mexican gray wolves and others, which are costing them billions of dollars over the years. Still working. Always making decisions for us. Yeah. For the people. For the people. All right. Moving on to Mount Rushmore. Yeah. Our Mount Rushmore this week has got me thinking of all the traveling. Yeah. Of what states that I would like to still go visit out of the 50 states. I've visited a right good many when I started going down the list. I was like, hmm, I've done seen a lot of these. I haven't done a lot of traveling yet. I would like to see Montana. Although when I flew over it, half of it is desolate. Brown. Oh. Yeah. Not what I thought. Then all of a. Sudden- California is like that too. It's just, yeah, it's just beautiful once you get to one side of it. But yeah, the first half of Montana just looks like this table. Wow. Uh, so I'd like to see Montana, uh, Maine, which I think is going to be a trip next year. I think I'm going to go to Nova Scotia to Oak Island next year. Take my mom. She's a big, uh, one of those big Oak Island watchers, the treasures. Oh, okay. So she wants to go. So I thought, make a trip up. We'll go through Maine. Take a stop in Maine for a little while. Definitely want to go to Colorado. That just seems like a really cool place to go. And then Texas. Just because I'd like to see the vastness of it. And South Dakota. I'd like to actually go see Mount Rushmore. That'd be good. All right. So what are yours? Oh. Actually getting ready to do, call it a bucket list trip if you want. It's in Florida, but Key West. Oh, you going to Key West? We're going right before Thanksgiving this year. I just texted Key West instead of Kevin. Damn you. A bunch of friends doing it. I want to go to Jackson Hole. I guess it's Wyoming, but I'm not 100% sure that's even the case. But I'd love to go to Wyoming. Montana, I also had that on my list. There's one that I didn't think would make your list, and it didn't. But Marty, I think, mentioned it. Uh, and I kind of combined the two because I don't know exactly what the difference would be. They're so little, but New Hampshire and Vermont in the fall, like we're in the season. Oh, I think it would be gorgeous. Yeah. Kind of like that main trip. And then, uh, in Alaska, I'd love to go to that one. Oh God, Alaska. So I've been to Key West. I think you will love it. Yeah. Um, Oh, you've been to Key West. Yeah. I didn't know that. Absolutely beautiful. It was not what I was thinking. It was much better. Again, just the amount of bars that are completely open at 8 a.m., 6 a.m. It's crazy. You're speaking my language. Yeah. And for some reason, their rum tastes much better there than anywhere else. I'll have to. Try some of that. But a lot of history. I did a little history tour while I was down there. Architecture is phenomenal. So I think you'll like it. Yeah, that's cool. So in our group chat, I told them what the Mount Rushmore was. We had a Hawaii. We had a Montana. And then a Maine. Newport, Rhode Island. That's not in my list. Is that where all the gays go? Isn't that where you went for your honeymoon? No. Martha's Vineyard? Yeah. It's not Rhode Island. Okay. That's Massachusetts, right? Yeah. And then Nantucket. Yes. Nantucket was beautiful. Okay. Okay. Martha's venue, Dan Tuggett, all that's right there. The little hook. Yep. Okay. And then we've got another main, uh, Oregon. Brian French said, if you haven't been to Oregon, you got to put that on your list. You know, what's crazy is it was not that far. Apparently away from where we were in Seattle. Somebody mentioned that you could take the train down to Portland. And I'm like, huh? Like I would have thought that would have been hundreds of miles away, but I would. Think so too. Just looking at the map. So, And you know what? We've got Chris. Yeah, it's not. Did Emma have any? I'm going to come up with new ones on the spot because all mine were taken. Okay. New York. Just once. I went once. It's worth going once. Three days. During Christmas. And then I'll call it a day. Yeah. I'm going to pick Connecticut. My favorite TV show was there. Okay. I've been through Connecticut. Very, very wealthy. That's what I thought. What show? Gilmore Girls. Oh. Yeah. Connecticut was real pretty. And then I had like Idaho, Montana. Yeah. I'll pick North Dakota. There you go. I don't know what's in North Dakota. What is in North Dakota? Minot. I don't know. Why not Minot? That's an Air Force base. And Chris Lacks. He had the Hawaii, Alaska, Montana. But he had one we haven't had anybody said was Arizona. Oh, yeah. Grand Canyon. Yeah. That would be on my do not want to. Oh, that's next week. Well, I would see that. But if that was. Next week is the five states you do not care to see. It's so hot. Like the bottom of your list. Yes, absolutely. So hot. Yeah. That's interesting. Hmm. They're good. Marty did ask you a question on your Alaska thing. She wanted to know why that one place was such a destination, such a small town, that all those cruise ships would go to that one spot. I think it's really, that's a great question, actually. I don't know, because it's not this huge place. It's very small. But I guess it's the train ride. It's The train ride is phenomenal. And it takes you up the mountain into Canada. Now, what's a neat little thing is you cross the U.S. border. And then you, like, so you have U.S. customs and then you have Canadian customs. They're 16 miles apart. And it's because... there's so many avalanches that happened in that 16 mile. Oh, wow. That they couldn't build anything. And so they literally call it no man's land. And if that arm comes down for the night and you're in between, there's no getting to the other side. Like it's locked down. And so he said, yeah, you don't cross when that arm is, if you can't make it, don't go. And they have roughly 20, to 40 feet of snow in the winter. We were going down the highway, Trent, and there's this 20-foot-tall poles with these reflectors that go over top like this. And somebody asked, what are those for? And he goes, so they would know where the road is. Wow. It's a plow. They had to have those reflectors hanging out. Wow. That's crazy. 20 feet tall. I mean, that's just nuts. I know there's parts of Alaska because my, one of my brother rats lived there, but in some respects you'd have to, you'd have to build pipe 12 feet in the ground to not like what we do three feet in the ground. So what they do instead is they just lay them on the ground and they're, and they heat them to keep them from freezing. That makes a lot of sense. Yep. So, all right. Yeah. Moving on to the best part of the show. Heck yeah. If you have the responsibility of managing the sale of a loved one's estate, please call the Counts Realty and Auction Group. And I should have done the bullets backwards. These first four, and I'm going to try to fly through them as much as I can because I'm setting up the last clip. This is that Lindsay Clancy case. And I don't watch cases. It's one of the things I. I don't know anything about it. It's one of the things that I hate. But this woman... And the only reason I'm doing this is because this what I actually titled this is this lady gets to vote. So the first three people, first four clips that I've got here are these jurors. And they're all mad because the one guy kept her from going free. And I like to call the one guy Batman. That's all a great Mimi. He's the only one in the jury that said she's not not guilty. Can you spend just a few seconds? Yeah, honestly. Everybody's talking about it, and I know nothing. Okay, so I'm probably the wrong guy to say it. She killed her three kids. Allegedly. No, no. Oh, no, she did. It's not a dispute. It's not a dispute. She killed her three kids. Are they letting her go? Not only that, she strangled them with those rubber bands. Oh, my God. So, you know, the ones you work out with? Yeah. The tension things that they have? She killed each one. By choking them to death. And after one died, I think she even took a break in between and killed them. So I don't know enough about it totally to that. But what was said is the word postpartum whatever, that you just don't understand, Brian. You don't understand what a woman would go through. Moms really have it tough. And this husband of hers is... the one that caused all this stuff. So this is like all the pink hats that are coming to this woman's defense. What I love about this is listen to these jurors. This lady actually gets to vote cut 10. It will be asking more to the point of really who Lindsay is and what her. Life was like. And, you know, obviously something happened to this woman that, that shouldn't have not happened for many reasons. And, and, We appreciated the fact that Kevin was just, you know, cut through the bullshit, if you don't mind me saying, and just moved it along with just so much compassion for her. And we didn't find any compassion in the prosecution. I mean, I know it's their job. But in a case like this, you expect a little bit, I think, from whatever. No, you don't. That's that's my. Brian, I've said this before in the past. When you can kill babies and then you can kill them out of the womb. Why not kill them when they're three? Dude. So I think it was 5, 4, and 3 or something. 5, 3, and 2. 20 years ago, a mother took her vehicle and put her two kids in it and drove them into the lake. Yeah. No one was asking for her to be set free. Yeah. Everyone wanted her prosecuted. Yeah. And that's how times have changed. And I keep saying it's these crazy liberal women, but it's not exactly that. Listen to this dude. This guy, the way I title this is, he's a male juror, question mark. You know he drives a Subaru. Listen to this guy. There was several times I would ask him to show us evidence or describe a witness testimony that helped to prove what he was saying, and he couldn't. There wasn't a single... piece of evidence or witness testimony that he used to prove why he was thinking the way he was, which is why we ultimately sent in that note. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with somebody having a completely opposite opinion. That would be a hung jury. That is our justice system. He's mad at the guy that won't give in. So what was the verdict? So she was a hung jury. So she'll be tried again. Oh, I couldn't come up because the reason 11 guys. Right. And so all the news is really mad about this one guy that would not have let her go. Here's another one. She loved her children. Just listen. This other juror. Listen to us to figure out if she murdered the children. She did. And she's admitting that we're trying to figure out, did she know right from wrong at that time? And with everybody saying she loved her children so much and everything proved she loved her children from her journals to her mother-in-law, everything proved that she loved her children. So she had to have snapped. If you ask OJ Simpson, he loved Nicole too. Oh yeah. Right. I ask my wife this all the time because, you know, at the courts, you hear it all the time. I blacked out. Yeah. I asked her, has anybody ever blacked out and went and volunteered to cut wood for old people? Why is it you always black out when you're murdering somebody? Right. That's a good point. Why haven't you snapped to get the milk off the top shelf for an old lady? What the hell are we doing? Dude, it is unbelievable. She literally said it's not questionable that she killed her kids. Of course she killed her kids. Okay. End of story right there. Done. Yeah. All right. Let's hear this last. This is the best one. So I'm calling the reason I call him Batman is the Mimi that I saw was all these pink hairs and these guys with their little bow ties or whatever. They're just yelling at this guy because he won't give in. She killed her babies. Yeah. Right. And apparently, anyway, but he's the guy and in the juror, in that little Mimi the cartoon, they show him he's wearing a Batman costume. So I call him Batman. He's the one guy that just went up against all these, these liberals. So here's the last juror. Listen to what she has to say. And she's talking to the CBS news lady and look at her reaction. When she finds out about the last year. Is eight, two and two. So eight people were leaning towards not responsible. Two hadn't decided and two thought guilty. One person of color and then everybody else was white. A lot of the jurors had children. One person of color was a person of color, a woman or a man? A man. A man. Look how she does this. Is a holdout juror a person, a black man? Yes. A black man is a holdout juror? Yes. Well, I have to sit with that for just a second. I'm very fascinated by the holdout juror, learning that he's a black man today. Can you just tell me his age? I'm very curious. I would guess in his 30s. Younger. But Batman is black. How the narrative changed instantly. But I'm trying to figure out the narrative. And I'm asking in all seriousness, what would it matter? Why would the black guy be wrong? No, no. What they were leading up to all week is how this white guy wouldn't listen to all of us. So they were leading up to all of that. And then all of a sudden, all the wind was taken out of the sails. Oh, wait a minute. It's a black guy? But I'm trying to figure out why a black guy wouldn't be sympathetic to somebody killing damn kids. I mean, not being sympathetic is what I'm saying. He's in the right. No, no, right. That's why he's on my show, your show. No, no, I know that, but I'm saying why is she confused by that? Dude, it's all these liberal women are sitting up there. What the fuck is wrong with these people? They're totally crazy. That's the point of this. I know, but I'm trying to wrap my head around how that's possible. They're nuts, and that little weak pussy of a guy is sitting there going, that guy also has another clip where the black dude got the rubber bands and And he put them around a water bottle and strangled the water bottle to show them what the woman did. And the guy goes, it didn't work. I was like, what do you mean it didn't work? It's not a person. Three people are dead. It did work. Babies. So I guess what I'm trying to wrap my head around real quick is she said she couldn't wrap her head around. And the way I take that is you can't wrap your head around a A 30-year-old black guy saying it's not okay to kill kids. No, what she couldn't get her thought around was the three, four days that these jurors are... I mean, this is clip after clip about these jurors and talking about this one guy. Nobody knows who the guy is. Everybody in their mind is thinking it's this white guy not listening to all these women. They just think it's somebody like me sitting there. And so they're hating on this guy. Sure. So that's what they're building up to. What she couldn't get her arms around is like, oh. And you even see her go, oh, he's black? Like, now I have to change my whole attitude that a black person tried to save three kids. Yeah, I get that part. I just, I'm like, I can't. It's just unbelievable. Where are we going as a nation? Yeah. Is Carolina Kevin calling? I told him 6.50. Okay, okay, okay. Cool. So, yes, that's the whole thing. And I'm not a case follower. I hate that stuff. Me neither. And I really didn't even care anything about the case except to find out a hung jury. I was like, okay, cool. This girl shouldn't walk free. Even if it was like by reason of insanity, was it not guilty by reason of insanity, and you still go to an insane asylum, all you have to do then is just get cleared, checked out, and they say, oh, she's not insane anymore. Let's let her go. Right. She killed three kids. Right. I'd be that guy. I'd be Batman. Yeah, and I don't know how the laws are, but I'm pretty sure that if you go to prison for killing, that you can't make money off of it. But I think if you go for a reason of insanity. You can. Oh, that makes sense. Yeah. Because you'll have a Netflix special. Right, because the guy that shot Reagan. You know, he's out. He's got a podcast and everything. And, of course, nobody would ever give him a podcast or listen. Yeah. But now, you know, of course you would because he was an assassin or attempted. She's become the pink hair's hero in this whole thing, the pink hat hero. And now, I think part of that story is she sent her husband on an errand. Like, he left the house. Good Lord. So that she could go get this done. That's not snapping. Yeah, yeah. Exactly. And that first lady talking about the prosecution just didn't show any empathy. And I know that's their job. Well, that's the answer. There's three dead kids, you moron. I'm just going to put that out there. My wife can attest. I probably drive her crazy. But never to the point where she would kill somebody and blame it on me. Yeah. Oh, he drove me to this. I told your story while you were gone. I don't know if it was the episode you listened to or the one before about how you tell Ashley, if you're just mad at me and you want to end it, just, just end it and let's move apart. Don't tell me. No. Yes. Just wake up one day and go, you know what? It ain't working. Yeah. Don't run me over. Don't run me over. Don't put glass in my food. Don't kill Reagan. I mean, yeah. Snapping. Like what do we, I don't know. OK, so what I want you to do here this time and Emma, after you push play, I want you to do that. I want both of y'all to do this and listen to this news story. But have your eyes closed. And at the end of it, I've got to ask you, what's the relevant question here? Now to a disturbing case in Mississippi. Last month, a 29 year old black woman was found hanging from a tree. Over the weekend, authorities arrested a man in connection with her death. Police say more arrests are expected. Here's ABC's Andrew Timber. Tonight, after a black woman was found in a hanging position behind a tree in Mississippi last month, authorities say a man has now been arrested and that more are expected. This has been ruled a homicide by the medical examiner's office. Police arresting 51-year-old Jaquez Ratcliffe in connection to the death of 29-year-old mother of four, Tayshia Fortune. This is an ongoing investigation in which we also expect to execute more arrest warrants in this case. Police say Ratcliffe had some type of association with Fortune, but not releasing any more details about their alleged relationship. Investigators also not saying how Fortune was killed or what led to her body being found hanging from a tree behind a vacant home, saying releasing that evidence could jeopardize the investigation. The case drawing national attention in a state with a deeply troubled history of lynchings and racial violence. Police say they understand those concerns, but will not speculate about a motive without evidence. of Tayshia Fortune telling the Associated Press they spoke with. Okay. What do you think is missing from that story? The race of the guy that was arrested. 100% right. So my mom, when we were at Charlotte last weekend, my mom says, did you hear the news story of the woman that was lynched in Mississippi? I was like, oh God, are you kidding? She said, yeah. She's like, I mean, people are still doing that. I was like, okay. And she goes, it was a black guy that did it. I was like, why wouldn't you start with that? Why would you say that? That whole news story, they did only one image of the guy. Jaquez is the guy that's doing it. He's 50 years old while he's hanging around with a 26-year-old black woman who's unbelievable with four kids. They left out, they called her black, but they wouldn't say he's black. He was black. You know, the only way you could tell would be that there would be riots in the streets right now. 100% correct. I mean, Mississippi would be burning because everybody would be rioting. Yeah. But because of black guy hunger, it's okay? Yeah, you're exactly right. It's not okay. No. No. And who are the other people that they're investigating? Yeah, exactly. And to make it sound like it's other warrants and to say Mississippi has a long history. Come on. What are you talking about? Yeah, yeah, exactly. I'm telling you, man, we just live in a damn society. The news is just unbelievable that they would do that. Unbelievable. I was shocked. Like my mom did it to me and I was mad at her and she laughed. Like, you know, kind of the thing. And then I watched that news article. I was like, well, if you were just listening to the news, I mean, you might guess Jack Hez is a black guy or French. All right, man. You have got to hear these two geniuses. This is a new podcast, I guess, that I'm starting to see on my algorithm. Because of this show, my algorithm sucks. This is Megan Rapinoe interviewing Kamala Harris. And just listen to these two geniuses. Almost a disservice to those who came before. You know, it isn't fair. There's things that just that aren't fair. And that's okay but there's so much work that we get to build on to look forward to a better future to and. To making it fair so it doesn't mean we don't fight against the injustice you gotta try to not let the unfairness distract you from your purpose that's the thing because it's meant to in some ways And so you have to just– and it's not– everything I'm saying is. Very difficult to do, by the way. Yeah. Right? Yeah. To figure out how you will compartmentalize and put that in the box where it belongs and the most important box being your purpose. Why are you there? What are you there to do? The most important priorities being who will benefit from your work and that being your North Star instead of the stuff that is unfair. But the whole point about being– successful is to, again, when we talk about breaking barriers, I never ran for any of my offices to be the first woman. I ran because I believed that was the best to do the job. And by doing that, then we create a path for other women to follow. Oh, Jesus. Path. Boy, it just took forever to get there. Hanging around like a loose dance. Why am I dentures in the ice tray? We go for a walk. Carmella to Carolina Kevin. I had a good one in between. Same wavelength. What up, Kevin? Yo. Chef Boy RK. Oh, so you said his spaghetti sauce was off the hook. Best I've ever had. Seriously? Best I've ever had. I'm not kidding. Oh, I can't wait to. I actually. Did you try some, Emma? No, not yet. I haven't been home to make it. Did you give Father David his? Yeah, I did. And? We haven't made it yet. I have them both at their house. You know what I think I really liked about it? It had onions in it. And I'm just a fan of that. Yeah. It was really, really good. Mix it with a little hamburger. You know what I had to do? I'd take my shoes off and wiggle my toes. Oh. It was so good. At least you didn't smack Marty. At least you didn't smack Marty. I wouldn't do that. That's good, Kevin. How was your weekend? Lovely. Lovely. What did, what did Carolina Kevin do this weekend? Work. Hmm. Sounds like a good weekend. When did y'all go? Y'all went to the beach. You went to the beach, uh, last weekend for last, right? Memorial day weekend. No, that would be labor day. Oh, labor day weekend. I'm sorry. Yeah. Backwards. Did you, uh, fish while you were at the beach? Mm-hmm. Had a good time fishing. Caught a lot of fish. Brought some back. Nice. Very nice. What were you catching? Blues? I caught some Spanish mackerels, some blues, some croakers. Very nice. But when I was there, I went to this buffet. They. They had beans, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, lamb, rams, all of them. Beans, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, chicken, turkey, rabbit, you name it. So in your town where you live, do y'all have like a local favorite where everybody goes and hangs out? Restaurant? We just have Empire Pizza and the The Tavern. And Hoof and Barrel. Hoof and Barrel. You don't have like a country restaurant? Hoof and Barrel. The Hoof and Barrel is a country restaurant where you can get mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese. What's the old favorites of the. Why you think it's called the Hoof and Barrel? That to me sounds more like a steakhouse. Homemade beer and steak and mashed potatoes. Steakhouse. Gravy. Can you get hamburger steak? Beans, greens, tomatoes. That's when you know it's a local family restaurant is if you can get hamburger steak. I love a good hamburger steak. I had one at Liberty Station. That's at 321 Greer. Man, I wish I could. You texted me last night, wasn't it? Yeah. So my wife and I did a couples massage on the cruise. Nice. No. Were you with Ashley or another couple? I was with Ashley. Was it like the movie Couples Retreat? No. It was miserable. We usually do this when we go on vacation, and it was not good. It's messed my back up. I mean, I'm not joking. It's like it's hitting a nerve. Every time I go to walk, it just shoots down my. Trent, you remember that movie? He goes, yeah, yeah. Put your back into it. Yeah. I don't think Trent has seen couples. It's been a while. Yeah, it looked like Warren Sapp. Oh, yeah, yeah. I don't like that guy. No, it did not. And, Kevin, you made Marty's day. She just texted me, and she loves when you do the potatoes, tannins, greens. Oh, Lord. All right, NASCAR. As long as I make somebody smile. Yeah, that's true. Let's talk a little NASCAR. We've got Bristol coming up this weekend. Let's see. Who won last week? I want to say Kevin won last week. He picked the winner, Larson, and he got 52 points, and you and I tied at second with 57 points. Yep. Who you got in Bristol? I think I'm going to go with Mr. Blaney, Mr. Briscoe, and Mr. Ryan Priest. All right. Very good. That was a badass burnout that Kyle Larson had where he laid out a window. I thought that was pretty cool, too. It's a matter of. Time somebody gets hurt, though, during a burnout. You got reporters walking around. You got crew members on the wall. You got smoke going. You can't see anything, and they're doing spins. At least the drone is going to get hit at some point that's out there. We think until you see them on Pitt Road, even when they had an accident the other day, how somebody didn't get killed. Yeah. I don't know. But you don't, you remember those old things. Kevin, I remember this. I don't know when, when it changed, but it was like late eighties or nineties where they used to still go as fast as they could down pit road before they had a pit speed. Oh yeah. Do you remember those days before? It's crazy. Oh, they watch them old videos. It's scary. Yeah. But we didn't even think anything about it. Richard Petty. I wonder what changed it. Did somebody get run over? Richard Petty would fly down there. Yeah. I think it was. Something happened with Richard Petty in Hale-Yarborough. I think it was at the Talladega. They come down Pit Road. As you know, you used to, when they had a wreck, like in Turn 4, they would come down Pit Road going 180 miles an hour like they would be out on the track. Yep. Scary days. Do y'all know this? I think I do. Do y'all know this little trivia that Richard Petty killed someone in a car? No. Yeah. So this is how NASCAR used to be brand loyal. So when NASCAR did something that said Plymouth couldn't run Daytona, Richard Petty boycotted NASCAR for a year. And so he skipped. So he's got 200 wins, but he skipped a year and he went to drag racing. And one of his drag cars he lost control of, and it went up in the stands, and he killed somebody in the stands during that year. I did not know that. Yep. True story. My picks are Hamlin, Josavar, Chastain. I was trying to get into my picks, but I can't seem to get in my fan duel all of a sudden. I did. Oh, man. I hate when I can't remember my picks. You forget? Yeah, because I had it on my FanDuel. Here we go, Kevin. He's going to tell us his picks, and then Sunday he's going to show us that he won. I'll send you my picks from FanDuel. Well, what if Travis is listening and cares about what your picks are so he can make a. Well, I'm trying to remember because they were not. One of them was definitely Ryan Blaney. Uh because you've been off for two weeks don't mean you gotta come back. Negative and i think i went alex alex bowman he's coming on pretty good yeah and then it's the third one that i can't remember because it was uh oh zane smith okay He had that nasty wreck last weekend, but they say he's well enough to drive. Oh, man, when he got out of that car. Didn't look good. Uh-uh. But they say he's driving. Wow. Trent? Sir? Remember what I told you last week, Trent? I said it wasn't going to happen that last week's race, but it'll happen this Saturday night. What'd I tell you? What? You'll have to refresh my memory. Yes, sir. Keselowski is going to get Hoskovac back. I said it's going to end up at Bristol in the short track. You're probably right. Damn it. I think he becomes a villain if he does it. Who? Keselowski. He already is. Keselowski don't care. Yeah, that's true. He'll strike him back. He wouldn't give two squats. I think that's good for NASCAR. Good. Oh, yeah. I mean. Hosso. Oh, Hoskovac. No. That's what Ward Bernstein. I don't know. Is Bristol Saturday night? Yes. Used to be the summertime. Normally I would love it, but with the LSU game on. Do split screen. I love YouTube TV. The split screen has saved my life. I think what tomorrow night's the truck race, and then Saturday night is, I mean, Friday night's the, like, the bush race, and then Saturday night's the next cup race. Kevin, our Mount Rushmore is, name a few states, you can do five if you can think of them, that you haven't been to that you'd still want to visit, like Brian just went to Alaska. Wyoming. That was one. Wyoming, Montana. Yep, I had to have them. Nevada. Nope, I didn't do that. Maine. Maine, yep. And I'm going to probably say probably South Dakota. Ah, like your brother. He said South Dakota. Got to go see Mount Rushmore. Yep. Because we always talk about on My dad. Was shocked at how little Mount Rushmore was. He thought it would be bigger than that. I would have thought so, too. Weren't they doing a different... A. Crazy horse or something. Yeah. It was something different. I wonder if Trump could get his head up there before he leaves. He's down here. He's getting ready to speak. Oh, is he? Nice. Down here in Gastonia, North Carolina, just right across the state line from South Cagalacky. Only about 15 miles down south. Sweet. How about them Cowboys? Oh, God. Trent. Yep. Yes, sir. What about Washington? I know. We knew we would suck, though, but you poor bastards keep thinking you're going to be good. Not me. I try to warn everybody. I tried to tell your son, and he's like, oh, no, Dak, Dak, Dak. I'm like, oh, God. We're still hitching our wagon for that. When you call your son Dakota Rain Prescott, it rains all right, but We got a drought going on. That's a hell of a one. I'm hoping, uh, Jaden Daniels, you know, I mean, he was, he blew his knee out last year or whatever it was. So give him a year to kind of get the rust off. He might, he might be okay. I still have hope. I don't know. It might be an RG three. Yeah, could be, but I think I'm gonna start rooting for the giants. The old scataboo. Brian's a little running back. He's a tough little bastard. He is. It's kind of the Brett Favish. They kind of got that mystique. Tough guys. How come I ain't heard nothing from Emma? All I heard her say was yay or nay about the spaghetti sauce. She ain't said nothing. She's in the background, what, reading a book? No, I'm just sitting here. She hasn't participated much today. I'm very exhausted. She's tired. She went through a rough day yesterday. I'm sorry. It's okay. Emma, are you tired? Yeah. I am. I know you've been running through my mind all last night. I was worried because you was up there taking pictures with Yonkin. Oh, I was. I did meet the governor. Oh. On Thursday. He was a very nice man. Yeah. Talking about Yonkin? Yeah. I saw you. He was at D-Day. Very cool. I thought it was so cool that he came to D-Day. Mm-hmm. He didn't even speak. He was just there. What was the event? Why the. They just did, like, a 30-minute ceremony for 9-11. So the office, like, firefighters laid wreaths and everything, and we prayed and stuff. Very cool. Yep, good dude. I keep up with you. I know. I'm surprised. That's terrible. All right, well, I got to go. I got to be like a tree and leave, but I'm going to leave y'all with this one. Okay. I was at the grocery store last night, and I was shopping, and I was up there where the meat section was, and I got an old chicken and put it in my cart, and this lady beside me, she's like, do you know that that chicken has family? I said, well, yes, ma'am. That's why I got the whole chicken. I don't want to leave none of them behind. All right, so let's get to your last two clips to round out the show. Well, the last clip, so we played how dumb Megan Rapinoe and Yeah, Harris. Harris were. So she went through all that answer. And really, the last 10 seconds, I think you could make maybe a case that that was a decent ending. But it took how long it took her to get there. Listen to this question about J.D. answering one of the reporter's questions. And listen to how he takes the question, which is like a gotcha question, but he just takes off with it and gives a hell of an answer. Listen to how good this guy is. It's across the metro. And very complex supply chains across the Canada border. I'm curious what the administration is going. To do to mitigate the economic pain of this trade conflict if it drags on. Well, one of the things the president's trying to do is just make things more fair for the American worker. If you look at what, to your point about that $ 4 billion export market, we've got to ask ourselves, is Canada applying restrictions on Kansas City workers or Missouri workers or Kansas workers, that it's not applying to anybody else. And the unfortunate answer is, despite the fact that we all love Canada, it's obviously a friendly country in a lot of ways, their government has imposed extraordinary trade restrictions on American workers all across our country for many years. Now, you see this in some cases in the agricultural space where, you know, if you buy a pound of butter from Canada, We're not applying any tariffs on it, or at least we weren't. But if we actually send agricultural products into Canada, sometimes our farmers are paying 200%, 300%. The same basic principles applying to our a lot of manufactured goods. And at the same exact time, while Canada is imposing a whole host of tariffs on our workers and a whole host of export and import controls on American workers, they're letting products come in from the People's Republic of China with nothing like that level of restriction. So what the president is doing here, it's not in an effort to hurt anybody, certainly not in the United States, not even in Canada itself. We're trying to make things more fair. And what we're saying to the Canadian government is if you want access to American markets, you have to be fair to American workers. This is going to lead to a place that's much better for American workers. I think, frankly, much better for Canadian workers, too. But they've got to be more fair. And if they're going to mistreat American workers, then it's incumbent upon the president of the United States to fight back, which is exactly what he's. Doing right now. I mean, I can't wait till he's president. I mean, I just love his– way and style of answering something is fantastic. There was a time where the union would be all behind that, right? Yeah. We got somebody that's fighting for the American people. Yeah. And we're going to suffer, but daggone it, on the other end, we're going to be better for it. Yeah. And yet. And that's the greatest thing I think about Trump, too, what you just hit on. I mean, he's not running again. He's making decisions that... change the world for the next 60 years. Can't absolutely. Yeah. And he doesn't. So, yes, I'm going to. He's doing the things that no other president would do to Iran because they were afraid gas prices would go up. I forgot to tell you that when I was in Seattle, we check into the hotel. There is a. piece of paper at the front desk that says, so usually when I check in, I don't go to the desk. I use my app. And so I don't ever have to go to the front desk. Just everything's through the app. Well, this particular hotel said we had to come to the front desk first. So I'm like, Oh God. So I go there and it's because the hotel workers at just this one hotel were on strike and they wanted to let us know, That in the morning times, between 7 a.m. and around, depends on how long they feel like staying, 9, 10, 11, that there's just loud noises going off. And it's to keep people from staying there. Oh, God. And he says, don't worry, I gave you a 15th floor backside so you'll never hear anything. Yeah. Luckily. Luckily. We never heard anything except for when we were eating breakfast. I'm like, God, that's awful. And so everybody's in the lobby looking out, and there's five people. Oh, God. So I'm like, what the hell? So I Google it. Okay. It was 100 workers at this one hotel that walked out in June. Oh, good grief. And it literally said that the hotel refuses to negotiate. Hey, if you're those hundred workers, they ain't coming to the table. Yeah, yeah. You might want to find a new job at this point. I think they figured it out. And nobody was getting pissed going, give me my money back. I'm going, these people are nuts. I think once you get past, you have made noises that affect the ordinance or the comfort of the people that are frequenting the hotel. You should be arrested. Well, I actually said to the cab driver when he picked us up is I said, dude, I read about this. This is crazy. I said, I feel sorry for the office building. That's right there. That has to listen to this crap every day. And he said, it rains a lot in Seattle. It's not every day. Yeah. Like them. They want their jobs and they want. That's what really pissed me off. When I looked up their demands, dude, their demands were. They didn't want the hotel to allow ICE agents to come on the premises. Come on. Not joking. That was number one. Number two was they wanted better pay. And number three, they wanted free health care. Yeah, there you go. How the hell could you afford to pay free health care? Like, there's no way. Oh, that hotel owner is just making too much money there. He still is. Yeah, that's funny. Anyway, sorry. Oh, no, no. Just ending your show. All right. This is the theme. This was something really quick. So I know Emma will be happy about this. It's just a list of the top. And it was something I looked to see where did they come up with this. So it was all, I don't know, AI driven, if you will. But it's the top states to go visit. Oh, cool. So I thought it was thematic. We'll see you next week, except Emma. What's wrong with her? I have to go to a gala work thing. What? Yeah, you'll have Logan. What is Gallo? Gala. Like a gala. Oh, okay. What gala are you going to? The Chamber of Commerce in Bedford. Oh, okay. That sounds exciting. Where is it at? Cedar Oaks. In the T. Okay. Speaking of which, if you guys want to talk about this, we can. But we were invited to do like we do at the basketball games where we host something. Is.... One of those town halls that the school board is going to do about redistricting. Stephen Hill said if we would like to do that, that might be something that they would entertain. And if it's passive, I don't think he wants us to, and I say us, I would be the one to attend if you don't want to go. But obviously we need Emma there to help listen to. But anyway, we can talk about it later. He wants, okay. It's like a town hall. Yeah. We would moderate it? Or we would just film it. I guess just film it. I was going to say, hell yeah, we'd moderate it. You want to moderate something like that? Hell yeah. Okay, my system's freezing. It stops at 710. We've talked about this. Oh, so we missed it? Yeah. The end? My bad. Didn't you say it cuts off at 710? It gets so slow. Like, it's like... That's weird. Well, you've been going for... Systems aren't made to go over two hours. Okay. It's okay. All right. Good enough. Next week. Have a great week. The most beautiful states in the U.S. Number 10, Wyoming. Number 9, Montana. Number 8, Arizona. Number 7, Oregon. Number 6, Washington. Number 5, Utah. Number 4, Colorado. Number 3, Hawaii. Number 2, Alaska. Number 1, California.
