In this episode of Life Liberty Happiness, Trent Warner is joined by Geoff Rupert, Travis Baxter, and Emma for conversations on sports, college football, fantasy football, and NASCAR. Personal stories include attending a former player’s wedding and Travis’s challenging dove hunting trip, along with historical trivia, entertainment recommendations, and local news.

The crew also makes their picks for the Mount Rushmore of Sports Heartbreaks, looking back at some of the most unforgettable and devastating moments in sports history. The conversation then turns to the anniversary of September 11, with heartfelt reflections on the events of that day and their lasting impact. The episode concludes with a tribute to President George W. Bush’s iconic Ground Zero speech.
This is life liberty happiness with brian schley and trent warner find us at llh underscore podcast on youtube across all social media platforms and wherever you get your podcasts real talk real freedom. All right everybody welcome to another week of life liberty happiness and i'm the uh Special guest. I'm going to ask this out loud right after I introduce everyone. But a little different show this week than from the last couple weeks even. And here's the reason why. So we had our football broadcast a couple weeks ago with Jeff Rupert. And we saw an uptick in our listens, our views. Then we brought Travis in and challenged him to beat that. And all of him and his friends must have gone in it because it got even higher. Did you notice that, Emma? Yes. We had the biggest views that we've had in 2026. So two weeks in a row, we've had more listens than we've had before. Now, there is one other variable in that. I'll let you figure that out. But so today we have, as I welcome them, Jeff Rupert. Hello. And Travis Baxter. Hey. And Emma again. Hello. So, and I will say this, who knows here who Wally Pip is? Jeff? Wally Pipp was the first baseman for the Yankees. He got hurt and Lou Gehrig took over for the next 15 years. That's right. So if you get Wally Pipped, that means the guy that took you over for your job did so good, you never got your job back. So let's see if Brian gets Wally Pipped. Woodrow, you need to listen up. Look at the ratings. We'll see. So. So our fearless leader is still celebrating his 20th anniversary with Ashley. And they are posting some great pictures in Alaska. Looks like they're having a fun, fun trip. And we wish them the best and a safe return trip back home. And he will be back here next week. And we are live in the Counts Realty and Auction Towers here in beautiful Bedford, Virginia. Visit CountsAuction.com. I just spoke to the owner. And they've got an auction tomorrow, and they're very excited about it. So you check online, and it's a 3,000-square-foot house, I think, in Berryville, Virginia, which I had never heard of. And then they've got a really cool auction, if you want to go on. For the ladies that are listening, it's a lot of antiques. But for the men that are listening that like old cars, there's like a 1940 and a 1939 old Chrysler and an old Pontiac that's for sale. So check out CountsAuction.com and buy. Make an online bid. I think it's September 30th is the final day for that. We are at 208 subscribers, which that's why I think there was a little bit of finagling of the numbers. Because usually when you have a listen and there are so many that you get a couple extra subscribers. But with that many more subscribers, I would have expected more than just two new ones. But maybe you are. Existing subscribers listen a lot last week. They don't do the whole subscribing thing anymore. They just go through and listen. Myself, I listen to the show 50 times just so I could make sure that I beat Jeff. That's what I figured. I was going to see if I could get rid of that and see how many times actually somebody new watched. I don't know how we keep up with all that. But anyway, pleased to have both of you here. That was awesome. And it's cool that the numbers were what they were. So let's continue the bump and let's go backwards and forwards. so for me and just to start it off because that's what's on the agenda um marty and i uh went down to charlotte to brock and emma's swaney's wedding um brock swaney i used to coach him back in the day and he was getting married and my son was in the wedding party along with all his other high school teammates which is a really cool thing let me ask you this travis since you just got uh out of high school, do you still hang with high school buddies or all y'all moved on and you just see something every now and then by a text? So, yeah, I mean, we do still hang out. We still have, you know, close buddies, but not like, you know, what we used to, you know, during COVID we were together every day. Yeah. Um, but not anywhere near like it used to be. Six feet apart. Six feet apart. That's right. I do still have one buddy in my wedding. That was, you know, best friend when I was younger. So still, you know, keeping him around. And then all of them are still invited to my wedding. Yeah. But not as tight. Not as tight. Just don't see him as much. Every once in a while. What about you, Jeff? High school buddies or college buddies? High school buddies. I mean, we're at our age with text chains going constantly. So the last two weeks ago, I met up with about 15 guys from college. Some I haven't seen in 20 years for a New Orleans game. So we're just trying now as we get older. And we know we're in the back half. We're like, you know what? We're going to try to pick one thing a year to get everybody to go to. Yeah. Well, that's cool. So what about high school versus college, the number? Is it mainly college guys that you're hanging with? At this point, mostly college. I mean, if I stayed, I'm originally from Baltimore. I mean, if I was still up that way, I'd probably see a lot more. Yeah. So I'm sort of in the same boat. I don't actually, it's just college guys that I hang with. I can't think of any high school buddy that I would even text that I can think of right now. Oh, my brother's buddy. He lives down in Texas. I'll see a Facebook post of his every now and then and maybe message him, but not physical seeing someone anymore. So I've kind of dropped that. And the reason I bring that up is because my son, all his high school buddies were in the actual wedding party, and that's kind of unusual to see that, but they were a tight group. That was a tight group. Yeah. They all played basketball together. Yeah. I mean, they pretty much dominated the Seminole that one year. Yeah, yeah. And the people in high school I still talk to are all those I played basketball with in high school. So being in a sport is just tying everybody together. Make sure you have your kids play sports. I know you will, Travis, for sure. Absolutely. Whenever that comes. Hopefully after the wedding. After the wedding is the plan. And then we stayed at my college roommates. Speaking of college buddies, we stayed at his place in Greensboro. Had such a good time Saturday. I told Marty, I was like, Why are we going back? We're off on Monday. There's no real reason to go back. And she gave a deep sigh like, okay, I'll let you two have another day of drinking. So we hammered them. It was pretty good. And then this weekend, we are going to visit Carmen, my little grandbaby, and taking my parents so that they can see their first great grandbaby. So that's what's going on. Looking forward to that. How about you, Travis, last weekend? Last weekend we did just about what I projected on last week's podcast. We went on our dove hunt. Oh, yeah. We got skunked. For real? For whatever reason. I don't know if it was just the field where we were sitting. The field where we were sitting, we were at odds right from the beginning because the field, they fertilized it with chicken shit. And there were flies everywhere. And it smelled terrible. 80 degrees? 85 degrees when the sun would come out. And so that ended up being a fairly miserable experience, unfortunately. We usually never go down there and have a hard time. But we were in the wrong field that day, and we were afraid to move. Because once you move, it's that age-old thing. Oh, now birds start flying over here. So we did that, went to the lake, went surfing on the boat, and then— Kind of finished out the weekend, Monday evening, surfing as well still, and then made our way back into town. Well, Grayson, man, I think he had a post. Him and I'm sure buddies or maybe him, but he had the shotguns, the two shotguns lined up on the– so it was definitely somebody else with him on the tailgate. And they must have had 15 to 30 birds lined up on the tailgate. They could have had 30. The limit's 15. So if it was two people there, they could have had at least 30 or a max. Yeah. So cool. How about you, Jeff? Saturday, favorite household chore that I ever do? Power wash. Power wash the back porch. I mean, I love power wash. I could probably do that once every month. Instant gratification. Oh, yeah. I love it. I thought you were joking. No. Then football Saturday. Sunday, went to the lake. Surfing, no. I'm more of a floater. Yeah. Kind of float around, drink a little bit. I think I stayed in the water for about four straight hours. And then Monday... I think I met you at the pool. Yeah. Pool day. Pool day. Yeah. Very good. And Emma, what'd you do last weekend? I worked. I dog tapped for two people. Yes. Well, everybody went out of town. Yeah. I had to deny like five people that I couldn't watch their dogs. Uh-huh. So dog tapped. You should start the business. I should. And then this weekend I'm going to Busch Gardens with my boyfriend. Oh, cool. Yep. Well, that'd be fun. Hopefully it cools down a little bit. And it's free, so it's a lot better. Yeah. How about this weekend? Did you say what you were doing, Travis, this weekend? No, I wasn't asked. I'm not doing much. I'm watching college football. I'm on the forward part. I'm going to watch college football on Saturday. Sunday is TBD. I'm not sure. It might just be a hang around the house day. Pro football. Pro football. That's right. We've got the NFL starting. There you go. You guys want to hear my locks? We'll get that was a joke because i was not very solid on this last weekend i was over too uh. That's on the uh that'll be in the sports section of the show if you haven't heard it before and jeff how about you did you say what you're doing this weekend. I have a little laid-back weekend. My wife, as most of you guys know, is a wedding planner, so she has five weddings this weekend. She's working three or four of them. I don't think I told you, Travis. She was voted the best wedding planner in Lynchburg. Really? She deserves it. We'll see that coming out. That's freaking awesome. And then probably watch a little football Saturday, Sunday. I wonder if I get Marty to work for her. It's not bad to have one that has to work on Saturday. That's right. Gives you a good open day. Most days I come home around 2, 3 o'clock on a Friday. I call her stepping in the house, and she's walking into a wedding venue, and we'll see each other on Sunday. Oh, man. That sounds like a dream. I can vent a little bit and try to get Marty going on that. But Marty, by the way, if you're going to tout, I need to tout too because I'm afraid she might get mad if I didn't. But she was listed in or featured in Home Magazine. Really? She's an interior decorator. So if you've got a version, I don't know, they come out weekly or monthly, quarterly. Yeah. Anyway, if you get a home magazine from Lynchburg, come to your house. You will see Marty's Into Your Decorating featured in there. Nice. Congratulations, Marty. Yeah, it's freaking awesome. All right. On this, or I'm sorry, this day in history. So, in 1504. Wow. Yeah, I'll reach back for this one. But I've got some trivia behind this. Not trivia, but little facts that I looked up and found. And I hate when I just get history and don't know a lot about it. But Michelangelo revealed the marble statue of David to the public in Florence, Italy. So this is the one that you guys have probably seen before where he's the big stout guy. But his nether regions are very little. Yeah. But they're shown. And I always wonder why they didn't have a fig or something over them. But it's like literally shown there. So I Googled. Wow. Why? Yeah. Why is it half size? I mean, what in the heck is going on with that? And there's actually an answer. It's probably because it's cold in Italy. It was a wintertime presentation. So let me see here. Let me pull open the fact on this thing. He just got out of the pool? Yeah, exactly. He was swimming in the Mediterranean. So the small size was on purpose. Because, get this, in ancient Greek, so my brother might be happy with this, a small unit symbolizes a rational thought, intelligence, and self-control. Is that why you referenced your brother? Yeah, yeah. So he literally did it on purpose, and because it was anatomical realism... Because a fear intention draws it up. And because he was getting ready to go against Goliath, it would have drawn in. So I bet when you got on the show today, the history lesson that you got would not about. You tell me for 50 years I didn't know this. Yeah. Jeff, just wait. We will blow your mind. So with all the history that you're going to learn today, I'll bet you when you go home, you'll find out, oh, there is something behind that. You'll remember that one 10 years from now. So let's see. Jeff, you got any history? I went a different route. I went with birthdays. Oh, wow. So 1890, one of the greatest colonels of all time was born. 1890. So he would have been, was it, is it Patton? Sanders. Oh. Colonel Sanders. So a little trivia with that. Yeah, cool. How many KFCs are there in the world? I'm going to guess 5,000. Travis? I will say it's got to be upwards of 15,000. In the world? Yep. Are we talking about Japan? Japan. It's part of the world. Part of the world. There you go. I would have to say upwards of 15,000. 32,000. Wow. How many in the U.S.? 5,000. 29,000. 4,500. And lastly, how many in Virginia? At least one. 50. 108. Oh, cool. We like our chicken. Yeah. And then the other birthday I have is Adam Sandler. Yeah, I saw that. Yeah. Sandman. Do you take a guess what Adam Sandler's net worth is? Per Google. $ 90 million. Oh, man. He's probably $ 600, $ 700 million. $ 440 million. Holy cow. That's crazy. And probably growing. Yeah. He's all tied in with Netflix. He's got his kids doing shows now, too, that he's producing. I got you. So, yeah. So, more than just acting. That's pretty cool. Not too bad. And then, just to go back to the Colonel Sanders thing, and not to make it look any different, but When I wear my glasses, Brian will sometimes, when he's on the road, Brian Schley, will send me a picture of the bucket because he swears that's me on the bucket. With your glasses on. With the little bow tie and looks like my little legs hanging down. And I'll get a random picture of KFC and I know he's just making fun of me. Have you told the story here about you being in a KFC commercial? I don't know. Emma, did you know that? I think you've mentioned it, yeah. I was in a KFC commercial, yeah. The one at the raceway? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. You have mentioned that. I don't know if it was on here or just in. It's my only claim to fame. So I was on the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Kentucky Fried Chicken Bucket around 2008. And it's still on YouTube. It's still on YouTube. You can find it. Yeah. You got to look really fast. But I did make $ 15, 000 from that. Did you really? I can see why Adam Sandler might have made so much money. He's been on a lot more things than commercial. How about you, Travis? Got anything? So— History-wise. I actually just ran across this, so everybody knows Pearl Harbor. Yeah. But in 1942, Japan actually bombed the continental United States in Oregon. You're kidding. Yeah, dropped incendiary bombs on Oregon State Forest and caused wildfires. Wow. I did not know that. I didn't either. Everybody always talks about Pearl Harbor. Yeah. Yeah. And nothing else in between. Pearl Harbor and Nagasaki and Hiroshima. And that's it. Yeah. Also, I see here that the name the United States of America was officially adopted in 1776. Very cool. Like the name, you know. Well, that's cool. Yeah, you guys brought it today. Hey, I've been wondering about the KFC, the whole thing, go back to KFC, because it just hits me. How come we never run out of chicken? You ever notice that? We got a lot of chickens out there. Think about how many chickens we must eat in a day. You've never gone, you've never gone to Buffalo wild wings and they go, Hey, can you order thighs? Because we've run out of wings. You know what I mean? We never run out of wings. Yeah. I went to college in the Eastern shore of Maryland and there were massive chicken farms like Purdue based out of there. And they're just for as far as the eye can see, just chicken farms and chicken farms. It probably smells like when he goes hunting, but that's all you see and all you smell. Well, Harrisonburg, Virginia, um, And I think the little town is called Dayton right there near Harrisonburg. It's the same way. So it's, it's just chicken house after chicken house that you see. But a long time ago when I was a kid and it isn't like this anymore, the slaughterhouse was opened like towards the public, like right up against the highway. So if you were walking on a sidewalk, you would, they had the sliding doors, barn doors open, I guess just because of heat and it's getting ventilation to go through the So you would be in your car, and I'm a little kid, and I'm looking out, and I'm seeing all these chickens. They're all hanging. That's so memorable as a kid, like, oh, my God, what are they doing to those chickens? We're going to get slaughtered. That explains a lot, doesn't it? Oh, yeah. All right. On to drama. So remember last week I had brought like four– episodes of things i'd watch because there was no sports on so it's a little bit less since college football was out and by the way the u.s open i've watched a lot of u.s open fact i kind of was so into the u.s open this weekend i forgot about football a couple times we were just watching that plus it was a lot of tito's phone but um if you have not seen a toxic love story on netflix you have got to watch it have you guys seen it i have seen it is it a documentary Yeah, it's like one of those dramas that happens. Docu-series type deal? Is it multiple episodes? It could be. I think it is multiple episodes. No, I don't know. I can't remember now if it was one or three of them. But it is just one jaw-dropping moment after another that you think you have figured this thing out, and it just diverts into a whole other realm. It's really good. It ended halfway through, and they play the credits, and I'm like, it still says 45 minutes left, and then they just chime back in how it didn't end. Oh, I didn't even know. I don't remember that. So you probably stopped halfway through. No, I don't. Because that's when it came back going after. I mean, Travis isn't going to watch it. Yeah. Documentary. That's where, that's what came back about the ex-husband. Okay. So I, I had forgotten that they had done that. Yeah. Yeah. It was pretty good. How does it compare to what you brought last week? Very similar. Very similar. Very similar. Yeah. I just, I guess I'm a algorithm is gravitating. Towards these toxic relationships. Oh man. Okay. Um, And then Jeff will appreciate this because he was at the pool. And our buddy Aaron, and you know Aaron. Oh, yeah. He said something. I don't know how he got on Sicario, the movie. But it was almost like he came at me that I had never seen the movie. Like, you've never seen Sicario? I was like, oh, okay. Calm down. He's like, it's the greatest thing ever kind of a thing. Honestly, I watched it last night for the show. It was okay. Sicario, that's like... It's about 10 years old, yeah. With Del Chapo and all that, right? Yeah, it was Benicio. Del Toro. Yeah, Del Toro, which I really like him. So it had people in there that I like. There's some parts of it I wasn't too big on, so it was okay. Not a bad movie. I don't know if I'd recommend it. I certainly wouldn't recommend it as hard and forceful as he did to me. I was afraid the next time I saw him, if I told him I hadn't seen it yet, he might do something to me. I'd be more worried about telling him you didn't like it. Yeah, I hate that, too. You tell somebody something was good, and then they tell you it sucks. The French punish me all the time about this movie called Foxcatcher that I told them about a couple years ago. I was just really talking about how crazy the movie was and that it was a true story. I wasn't saying it was like the best movie of all time, but even to this day, if it's Saturday and we're all having a good time, they'll go, oh, don't ask Trent about a movie. They told us about this dumb wrestling thing. I'm like, oh, my God. So anyway, just bent a little bit, and I digressed. And Travis, have you been watching anything this week? I was on the college football on Saturday. Thursday night, me and a buddy went to Pabst Cigar Shop, and we smoked a cigar and watched the Georgia Tech-Colorado game. Is that in downtown? No, no, no. It's in Winhurst. Okay. There is a Pabst downtown. Oh, is there really? I didn't ever know. I've lived here for a while now. I didn't ever know it was actually like you go in and smoke your cigar and hang out. No, there's no drinks there, so you got to, you know, we went up the street, bought a 12-pack, and put it in coffee cups. Okay. So they don't sell anything besides, like, soda and water. They could probably introduce bourbon there or something like that. Yeah, I'm surprised they don't have bourbon in there. Yeah, and I'm not sure. I thought I had been there for a while, but I never knew it was an actual place where you go in and relax. I would have been there a little more frequently. I'm not a cigar fan. It's a headache. I enjoy them to a certain extent. I had to stop smoking one because it was, like, You know, it was pretty big. But, yeah, so that Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Saturday, watched the game. Dad came in. We watched football. And then also what started, we started watching Chad Powers. Uncle Jeff. You had told me about that. I saw my first ad. I think my phone heard you talking about it. It definitely heard you. Yeah. I saw my first ad for it. I have not seen even season one yet, but everybody says season two is awesome. I mean... it depends on what you're expecting if you're expecting constant football it's in season two it's not happening yeah it's it's more of like the behind the scenes of the games it's more of like cut scenes of the games and then how they did afterwards there was more football in game in the first season so it's good it's good it's good so okay we'll finish it up tonight i think i only do like six episodes per season. They're only like 30 minutes long. Okay. You can knock it out. That's the way I like it. Yeah. You can knock out the first season, no problem. Yeah. Jeff? So I'm more of the documentary person on a Saturday morning, so I was watching Welcome to the Family, The Murder of Dan Markle on Hulu, where I'm sure you're not going to watch it, Travis. I'm not. Go for it. It's three episodes. Trent probably won't watch it. Actually, you can tell it all, and I probably will forget. As I have on the other things that I've watched. But go ahead. So the guy mysteriously gets killed randomly after getting divorced from his wife. And the wife just takes the kids, moves to Miami, and they're trying to track the killer. And, of course, it comes back to where he was killed. He was murdered. And his wife is from a rich family in Miami. As they say, he's living in the shithole of Tallahassee, and she wants the grandkids in Miami. Ah. So they hired a hitman and killed him and took the kids to Miami. So you reminded me of freaking bride slack and i know he said this on the show emma can attest to this and he will say it hoping she's listening sometimes like if ashley's just mad at him just leave or tell him to leave don't kill him just just go do your thing that's fine just don't kill me he's had that conversation with ashley in front of us so. And then I've been intrigued to watch this movie. It came out on Apple called The Runner with Gail Godot, who's Wonder Woman. Oh, yeah. I've seen that on Prime. And then as I pull it up today, I watch it, and it's probably the worst-rated movie, like the worst-reviewed movie of all time. Really? But it's like the highest-watched movie on Apple in like three years. Because of Gail Godot. Could be. Yeah, 100%. Wonder Woman, baby. Yeah. But then I got tied into football and tennis, and I didn't really catch as much stuff on the apps as I was playing it. Yeah. Well, we got next week. So I don't have any other ones that I've got coming up. I think I'll watch that one that you said, though. I like the old Welcome Home. What did you say it was? Welcome Home? Dan Markle? The Murder of Dan Markle. It's on Hulu. All right. Let's check that out. And then I'm still working my way weekly through Ted Lasso. Ah. So. It's one of the few shows my wife and I really enjoy together. So hopefully we can get to it tonight. Jeff, when do you watch your TV shows and whatnot? That shows a lot about a person. So I very rarely watch TV. And so usually here's my Saturday morning, Travis. I wake up early. I throw a bet on the 730 English Premier League soccer. Then I probably, I mean, it gets me going for the day. Then I probably, my wife, if she's back from wedding, she didn't get back to one o'clock. So she sleeps in a little bit. So I'll probably knock out Netflix or a show in the morning. And then that's really except weekends for football. And our night, like weeknights, nothing. Nothing. Nothing really. By the time we all get settled, she works from home. I really can't be in the house that much while she's working. So I'll be outside with the dogs. Maybe eight o'clock we'll get something. My wife really loves Big Brother Survivor and stuff like that. Oh, yeah. So Brian loves that type of stuff too. She's like, you want to watch it with me? I'm like, just tell me what happens. Yeah. Just let me know. Keep me up to date. So we're on two separate couches watching two separate things. Hmm. That's our house, which is fine because I'm not going to watch interior decorating. There's just no way. I've tried to sit there. Not watching HGTV. I've tried to listen to it. You probably like HGTV, right? You see some of the buildings? You know, I don't mind it, but what I hate about it is that clients of mine will watch it anywhere down the road. Good point. They're like, I want this. I was like, what's your budget? Didn't they watch that part of the show too? I was hoping. I was like, you guys saw the budgetary line items, right? Yeah. How much they spent. I said, it's not always right. I don't know where their markup is. Yeah. Yeah. So there was one time we went down to Condo Trent's and Trent took me fishing at four o'clock in the morning and then went to bed at two o'clock in the morning and got sick between that. So we'd come back, go fishing. We call that day one. Day one. Cook the fish, come back from lunch around two o'clock. So I go take a nap. And then Trent and Julie just sit out on the porch. I wake up an hour and a half later, and Marty's watching her interior decorating show. And I'm in another room, and I'm like, where the hell am I? I have no idea what's going on. What am I listening to? I walk out, and I'm like, oh, thank God I'm here. Walked out to see Marty taking notes on the couch. Dude, I'm telling you, it's relentless. It's nonstop. She watches them all the time. It's all trendy. It's like– It is. It's all that. It's got to stay up to date. And it's usually like Southern bells that have their immaculate house and landscaping and all that. And they're always monotone, and it's like the most boring production ever. It's like literally done with the phone. They need some Emma help. That's right. Add some music or some pizzazz or something to it. Side note, did you see you're almost at 5,000 followers on Facebook? Oh, really? Yeah. Look at that. Well, how many before Travis and I? Yeah. You were at 4,000 two hours ago. I guess we were at like 3.8 last week. I'm just kidding. I have no idea. I was about to say. I don't actually know. I might take some of that. Just sell your answer and we'll believe it's real. I just checked. By the way, I forgot to announce. If you are listening, you can chat to our show on at LLH underscore podcast. And we have a chat already. And it's Marty. This is. Stop talking about me. Wait a minute. Maybe she didn't hear that I gave her the promo about being in the Holmes magazine after Jeff. Julie Rupert events. There they go, by the way. TikTok shout out. Let's see who we got this week. This is, all right. Sometimes when I do these things, I have people in mind when I have them. I'm confused. Okay. I know. I know. So I knew I was going to take a little. heat from Travis and Jeff for this because it makes no sense at all. But for some reason, I watch these things and I think Emma will laugh at this. And so this lady, I mean, she has 1.3 million followers. Her page isn't even in English. It's not. She's a foreign lady over here. And I've seen her on shows. She goes on these shows. She gets invited to them. And you'll look. She looks like an old woman, right? But it's not. That's literally just she's using a filter. And so that's what tricked me the first time. I was like, look at this old lady get at it. So go ahead and play Babka. I'm going through the sun. I'm so bad in the dark. Emma, you could be doing that. What? I see you doing this while you're sitting here by yourself in the studio. Watch this girl get at it. How did this come up on your page? I'm telling you, my algorithm is so messed up because of this show. It's Russia TikTok. And sometimes their grandkid will just come walking through eating some Pringles. It's like, how old is this person actually? She looks like she might be 30. She uses a filter to do that, which is also incredible to me. If you go through her page, let's see if you can see her looking like somebody else. I don't know. Oh, there she is right there. She's your first caption. Oh, she's live right now. Yeah. Let's comment. Let's look at her right there. Hey, tell her she's live on at LLH underscore podcast. She's 283 people. Well, she's slightly higher than us. We have three. 280. We have three? We have three right now. At six o'clock, that's going to go up. Oh, good. You're logging in, Travis. No, my dad. He's coaching a volleyball game right now. There it is at LH podcast joint. I hate that he's moved on in his life, that even when he comes to the town, he doesn't even let us know that he's here. Or maybe he lets Jeff know, but I didn't know he was in town last week. Wait, so he was supposed to be headed in town to go hang out with you guys. We had the draft Thursday, but he didn't come in on Friday. Yeah, but he left the lake on Sunday evening and said he was going back in to hang out with you guys. Yeah, he met up with Aaron Stam, dropped off the bourbon, had a drink, and I called them like, I'm like, you guys still there? And Aaron's like, no, we left an hour ago. Yeah. What? Your dad said he was drinking all day at the lake. He was, but he, I mean, drove back home. All right, Baxter, call in. All right. So TikTok shout out is sponsored by. Need insurance in Bedford? So ABC news, Smithsonian secretary resigns amid attacks from Trump administration. So I know you guys aren't nearly as political at all as Brian and I would be. So he and I would be all over that because we talk about it all the time. It's the language they use for everything. So if, Let's say it was Biden and the Smithsonian guy resigned. It would just say Smithsonian Secretary resigns. It's always a Trump attack. It's always got to use the word. So that was one from ABC News. And then NBC News. The Senate is up for grabs as Democrats test tough map and GOP faces stormy climate. So, again, Democrats have a test. as they test a tough map, again, insinuating the Republicans have changed all the mapping, which they failed to mention that just 15 years ago they had done the same thing. And of course, the GOP faces a stormy climate. I am really, really interested to see how the midterms turn out this year. Because there is something going on, and we'll talk about the midterms here in a little bit, that Trump is doing this year that I don't know has been done. Well, I know it was done a long, long time ago, but it's been a while. And then CBS News, their headline, and Brian does this too, he'll go in and read the article to see what could that be. So I did do this one here to read this one. The headline from CBS News is, Some key GOP candidates are skipping Trump's backed midterm convention. So I went in to see, well, who are the guys that would not go to this midterm convention? Because if you're running for office, certainly you would care about bumping your promotion and promote your campaign. And what better way to do it as a Republican than go to this midterm? However, as you read the article, they reached out to 52, no, 50, let's see, 52, 56, 62 people. All right. Four said they weren't going to spend the money to travel. So they weren't going. And then six said they were going. But yet you only heard from 10 out of 62 people and could make a headline that says key GOP candidates are skipping. Literally in the article it said 52 people never replied. Well, I'm sure when you clicked into that article, because I do this with the New York Post all the time, it takes four or five paragraphs to tell me what's even going on. Exactly. 100%. Yep. Yep. And literally that's where I had to find that. It was at the bottom of the article as you scrolled all the way down to find out that 52 people never even replied to them. So somehow they still made a headline that said people were skipping the midterm. Seems educated. Yep. And I do have a clip of Trump talking about the midterms coming up. So on to sports. It's time for sports. All right, so just like the NCAA does everything crazy, I think they called this the week one completion. So coming up this week is week two, if I've got that right. And so I'm going to call it more craziness of week one. We had, and I'll go through some of these things, and then I'll get your guys' thoughts on that. But in that craziness, we started Thursday, I think, with Colorado blocking a kick against Georgia Tech to win. We had the whole Western Michigan-Michigan fiasco, which are Mount Rushmore today. I forgot to announce that earlier, is heartbreaks, sports heartbreaks, things that just got you when it happened. And if I was a Western Michigan fan, that would have killed me today. We had SMU and Florida State and the lighting issue that went on. We had a great game between Louisville and Ole Miss, which I guess was probably the game of the week if you think about it. And then VMI tried real hard against Virginia Tech. They almost made it. They almost got them. The halftime spread was 71 and a half points. Had them on the ropes. So, did you bet on that one? No, it's in Virginia. Yep, no Virginia sports. Yeah. So, what are you guys' thoughts on that? What do you guys think on this weekend? Well, we'll start with the Western Michigan-Michigan. I mean, we all watched it. It was ridiculous. But, yeah. When I was in my 20s, I was actually a clock operator for D1 Basketball. Oh, man, bringing it. Yeah. I'm going to weed here for a minute. Yeah. So the TV clock does not sync up with the real clock. Okay. And you would see the game clock, it doesn't have a tenth of a second. Yeah. So I've had this problem one time where I got my ass chewed out by a guy where... The shot clock did not go down to a tenth of a second, so he thought he had like one second. I go, ref, he's got. 1 seconds. As soon as that ball hits, it's going off. Yeah. So the guy comes just screaming at me saying, you effed this up. I'm like, no. I said, the ref didn't tell you. I told the ref. Yeah. So if you watch the play, the way the rule goes is the fact the guy from Western Michigan had a foot out of bounds, if he touched the ball, it stopped then. Yeah. But if he didn't touch it, it wouldn't have stopped until it hit the ground. And they were showing– After the game, they were showing the feed from the ref cam, and they were showing it to people on the field, like students were running by. And you could see there's like 0.2. And so they don't have that point in the clock. So you don't know that 0-0 could be 0-0.9. Well, in football, that shouldn't matter, though, because they're going to stop the clock on the incomplete pass. So whether it's, you know, one thousandth of a second. But when you visually see 1.0 go to 0, to 0.9, that's going to 0.0 on the score. That's going to zeros on the scoreboard through the points. So there was like three tenths of a second. I still think it's bullshit. And as soon as they do it, you're like, oh, my God, Michigan is going to win. Yeah. And it's just the Western Michigan coach. Everybody in the world knew they were going to win, and then you gave them one more shot at that? Come on. The best is Michigan got dropped out of the top 25, even though they won. Yeah, they were 16. They dropped them all the way out. They dropped totally out. So you could punish them anyway. I think in today's world of technology, isn't it crazy that you could have a clock that's not synced up with another clock or show the tents if that matters? Well, it leads into Florida State. We didn't even have a clock. Yeah, didn't have a clock at all. That was crazy. They didn't have a clock. They didn't have the headsets that didn't work. They turned those off. Somebody was sweating that game. I can tell you that. There was somebody that was like, holy cow, just right before they kicked off, the power went out. I wasn't watching because I was doing a fantasy draft, but I was listening to McAfee today, and they had the reporter who was covering it. She's like, I was Googling things left and right, so I looked educated. Like, what's a transformer? What's causing this? So when she's explaining what's going on, she's talking– with some knowledge of really how it all works. And she's like, I Googled it all. I watched a lot of that because I wanted to see how they handled all that stress. And they were misinforming her to start with. She said, we're going to go as is. It's going to go off like the normal time it should. And then when it got to the normal time, she goes, now they're telling us 15 minutes. And then it just kept going. They kept extending it out. And then it came that it may not play at all. It might play the next day. Yeah. There's too much money. They've got to play it. Yeah, and then travel and how to reprogram everything. They had to do it. I mean, did you guys see? My wife and I are probably the only ones who watched it. So that night of the Ole Miss Louisville on CBS, they were doing college volleyball from Wrigley Field. Oh, really? But what happened was. It was Nebraska, right? Nebraska. There was a game before at Penn State, and they played that. But in the evening, it got so humid, the girls were slipping. So they only made it to like 13 points. There was 55,000 people there to watch a volleyball match. It didn't happen. That's awful. You don't want those girls getting hurt for the rest of the season either. Doesn't volleyball do this weird thing? They got two seasons. Don't they have a fall and like a spring season? Like you can go back and look at players' rosters and they'll tell you where they played in the fall and they'll actually transfer and play to a different school. I think next year they're doing that for college soccer. They're going to play in the fall and the spring. Because what happens is college soccer goes to, like, December, and you're playing a national championship, and it's, like, 15 degrees outside. Yeah. And they play that in Cary, North Carolina, don't they? They do, yeah. That's kind of cool. But we did flip to the VMI-Virginia Tech game. It was almost fun to watch because it was so lopsided and comical. And the quarterbacks, I guess he got in some trouble this week, too. He said something on the mic to the other quarterback that he shouldn't have. And I guess he got in some trouble for that. So I think VMI got fined this week for whatever he said on air. But they were down 50. And they're showing the coach just after halftime. I guess they were down 35 or 40 at halftime. And he's drinking a Diet Coke. I've never seen a coach drink. Drinking a Diet Coke for VMI. He's just sitting there. I was like, man, that does not look good at all. It didn't look like he even gave a damn. He's like, well, we got our asses whipped. I'm thirsty. Warren said, now, if you tell me it had bourbon in it, maybe. Maybe. But that was an awful look. We saw that with the Western Michigan coach when he came out at halftime. He was drinking a ghost, which is like very high energy drink. I had it. You can feel your heart beating like this. And I'm like, what is he drinking? He's like, he's drinking a ghost. On the field during the game? Yep. I've never seen that before. Starting the second half. I wonder if teams are starting to do that for promotions. Potentially. I know that Alabama, they moved. They had the script A. We almost made it through three games. You're not making it through because you got your— 42 minutes in. I had the under. You had the under? So they moved the script A. They put the SEC logo where the script A was right there at the chest plate and thought of them having a sponsor on the other shoulder. So it's coming. Football is having sponsors now. Didn't Alabama get sued by Amherst for stealing their A? I doubt it. I doubt it. Amherst A isn't as beautiful. Oh, beautiful. Now, it's funny you did say that because Appomattox did. They had to drop their A or make it just slightly different color than Arizona. Yeah. And they had to. They literally got a cease and desist letter from the University of Arizona to Appomattox Raiders, and they had to drop their A, change their A. So, yeah, those copyrights are critical. And did you guys like the Louisville-Ole Miss game? I watched a little bit of it. I mean, didn't Ole Miss get out like 38-17 at one point? They were up, but then they had to kick a field goal to win. Yeah. Well, someone told me they said, yeah, they had to kick a field goal to win. I thought Ole Miss handled them. Yeah. And I had no idea. Same thing. I turned it off about five minutes ago. I was watching the Notre Dame game, sweating out a 21-point spread. But you've got to remember, Louisville was my pick, and I was somewhat impressed that they actually hung in there to the very end. Yeah, well, you pick them to win the ACC, maybe they will. This Saturday, let's talk about some of these games. So these are the matchups. I'll read through them, and then I'll get your thoughts on any of them. So it sounds absurd at the beginning of this one. This is Norfolk State at UVA. Sounds absurd, but the reason I put it there is because it's Mike Vick. Coach in Norfolk State. Oh, yeah. And he got his first victory. I don't think they won a game last year or maybe just won. But he won their first game this year, and they are playing at Virginia this weekend. We have Ohio State at Texas, which I guess is probably the marquee matchup. Yeah, that's the 7-30 game. We got Oregon at Oklahoma State. Arizona State at Texas A & M. Oklahoma at Michigan. Hopefully they will get past a Hail Mary. Rice at Notre Dame. And I picked up Rice because we have– Oh, the kid from Forrest. Davis Lane. Davis Lane. Oh, Davis. That's right. He is at Rice. Yeah, he left Virginia. Don't forget, he went to LCA. Yeah, yeah. That's where he made his staple. After they got recruited. We got Bama at Kentucky. Got Bama in there. I had to get that in there. That's a bar burner now. It could be. That's at Kentucky. It's at Kentucky. With a young QB, that's a potential there. And that's a new head coach, too, right? At Kentucky? At Kentucky, I think they do have a new head coach. They also have a new quarterback. Yeah. Tennessee at Georgia Tech, which is an intriguing matchup, and Arkansas at Utah. So, Jeff, I'll let you begin because I know what we will have to cover when Trevor comes through. So I won't talk about Bama, but I need to call him Trevor. Do it all the time. Norfolk State UVA, Norfolk State 44.5. They lost to Old Dominion by 21. I think Tech plays Old Dominion this week. That was one of the ones I looked at. I'm a big Texas guy. I like to see Texas just kind of roll over Ohio State, but it's one of those where I'm afraid to put money on either of them. Gosh, Texas never comes through in that game, though, you know? They always have that one game that you think, but they still never come through with the one you. Think they need to win. Whoever wins this will lose to, if they make it in the playoff, the Big Ten or the BCS, the other team will win. And like we said, we have Oklahoma, Michigan. I don't think anybody wants Michigan to win anymore. No. So I think everybody's over Michigan. Notre Dame, right? So we said, I'll probably watch a little bit, see if Dave's laying, see if he See where he's playing? 44-and-a-half, which is a lot. But I am 2-0 my locks, Travis. Here's my locks. Army minus 3-and-a-half against South Florida. Army won by like 55 last week. Yes. They got a solid defense. Dylan Stowers from LCA is heading up the line. Damn it. And they got Slade Cassie. Yeah, they got Slade, too. Playing for them. J-F product. Yep. Stay the J-F. NIL money. And then Penn State minus 23.5 against Temple. Penn State rolled last week. So I'll be interested to see if they can pull it off again. So that's my two locks. I tried to do outside Virginia so you can make some money on this one. Okay. So Army is one minus 3.5. And what was your other one? Penn State minus 23.5. Who are they playing? Temple. Okay. Jeff, what about the Miami game here? Miami? Who's Miami got? Florida A & M Rattlers. What's it, like 50? It's a lot. Let me see. Right now it's 57 and a half to spread. They can definitely handle that. Did you see how Mensah played last week? Yeah. They've got the tools and the weapons. 57 and a half. Is a lot. At the pregame of the Florida State game, the announcers in the booth there were saying Miami is the best offense in the NCAA. Well, they're going to look like it. They don't play any ranked teams. Yeah. They got UVA. I think UVA is the only tough game. UVA, they don't play UVA, do they? No. No, they play Notre Dame. That's a tough game at Notre Dame, but their ACC schedule is pretty soft. Their next two after Florida A & M is Wake Forest and Central Michigan, Clemson, Florida State. They'd be at Notre Dame in November, and that's it. Travis, you got thoughts on the. Games? That's a lock. Miami over Florida A & M. 57.5? You going to give them 57? They could score 107. They could. I thought Tech was going to. That's just them proving a point. Okay. I'm not as much on those. I'll tell you who I think is going to win a game, who I think is going to lose a game. I'm not as schooled as Jeff is on the spreads and whatnot. Give it time. when you have kids. Yeah, you have a little bit. Let's see here. There's not a ton of ranked on ranked matchups. What about Texas and Ohio State? What's your thought on that one? I like Texas just because it's at home. But it's too... Real good quarterbacks that are, you know, have progressed up through the ranks and they've been working pretty well. So you're Notre Dame over Rice. All right. Let's jump into the NFL, which starts, I guess, tonight. We got Patriots versus the Seahawks. What time does that start? Is that 7.30? I think it's like 8.20. So people can listen to this and listen to another half of it if they want to re-listen before they watch the game. 8.20, yeah. That's how Travis brings up the YouTube views. Oh, yeah, exactly. That's right. Watch a half and then another half. So they've got a Super Bowl rematch, Patriots and Seahawks. Then we have on Thursday, we have the Niners and Rams in Australia. And I guess Donald is back with the Rams, but he's not going to Australia. Like he does not want to travel. So he just decided I'm not going to the game. I saw you put that down there. I wasn't sure what that was. Pretty sure. He just said I'm not going. So they want him back so much he can say whether he wants to go or not go. They just want him in the playoffs. Yeah. And he might have a travel advisory or something, not paying his taxes. He's not allowed to travel. So there's stuff like that. Speaking of that, I got some– Got to pay your taxes. Yeah, I got a really cool thing about taxes in California. And what comes up, Stephen A. Smith was ripping California about that. I got that clip later. Sunday, any intriguing matchups? I wrote down a few here. Bills at the Texans is a good game. The Dolphins at Raiders just because I thought that's suck versus suck and who sucks worse. We've got Redskins at the Eagles and Cowboys at the Giants, which is kind of an NFC East matchup to start. Yeah, that's two rivalry games. And then Monday we've got Broncos at Chiefs. So there's some decent games in the first week. Anything strikeout that you guys strike at? I took Texans to win it all, so I need them to come out of the blocks against the Bills. That's going to be a great game right off the start. And my lock in the NFL, Travis, you want to mark it down, is Cowboys minus three against the Giants. Okay. Giants, I think, are going downhill in the Cowboys. It's supposed to be the Cowboys' year. I think everyone's heard that since, what, 1985? Well, they're great in September. They're fantastic in September. It just happens to be when it starts cooling down in November and December, they just end up not making the playoffs. All right. Any other things jump out at you, Travis? NFL? You're not a big NFL guy, are you? No, I watch and enjoy with the NFL. I didn't even make it into a fantasy league this year. Yeah. Unfortunately, because I do enjoy fantasy. We had our fantasy draft. Trent changed his role. He didn't go all Redskins or Commanders this year. I hear you went, what, all Rams? Mainly all Rams. What happens on bye week? I'm so curious. I lose that one. I take a dive one week. He went 0-13 last year. He lost them all, including the bye week. Bye week was one of the closer games. There were very many that were close, and let's not get something. If Jaden Daniels hadn't got hurt, I probably. Would have won some wins. That's right. Yeah, you take a gamble. I'm curious why they got the, you know, the Commanders-Eagles and then, you know, the NFC East rivalries week one. Usually it's mid-season and last game the Commanders are playing the Eagles. I guess last year we watched Johnson. We did. His first week. Scadaboo. Well, I guess so, yeah. Scadaboo's girlfriend and mom. Yeah, they sat right in front of us. Oh, I thought you were going to say like, yeah, they're hot. Yeah, that too. Yeah, that too. And Brian French, out of nowhere, he goes, that's Scataboo's mom. Like, how do you know this? Yeah. I've never seen any pictures. There is some reason. She was sort of famous for something. I can't remember now what it was. Maybe they featured, showed her a lot during the bowl games or something like that. But she's tatted up and she's definitely recognizable. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. In NASCAR, I'll briefly get through this. Come on, Trent. You know I'm going to the race a couple weeks. Oh, yeah. Well, did you get to see any of Darlington? No. Well, C. Bell won. Christopher Bell. He's really a– I would say if you asked all the drivers who the best drivers are, Kyle Larson is number one because he races every single night of the week. He still goes to those dirt tracks every– every night of the week like literally he's not home i don't know how his wife raises the kids but he races monday through through saturday local tracks so and then he flies to do the nascar so kyle larson would be number one but chris bell would be number two same kind of guy just races everything everywhere and so it was a big win for him because he hadn't won a little bit of time so he won bristol when i went oh yeah yeah he's a good driver So the next race is this thing called Worldwide Technology. And it's like, I've never even heard of where that is, and they just name it. But it's in Madison, Illinois. I had to look up where that was. So if you want to skip a week of NASCAR, this will be a weekend to skip. So although Carolina Kevin will be calling in with his picks. There you go. And we have to make the picks to keep it going. High school, we had Glenver. Swamps, Liberty, Bedford 27-0. Heritage beat Graham 21-6. And I think that's interesting that they have going down to a smaller group to play. Heritage went down and played Graham. Although Graham has historically been good, as Glenborough has. J.F. romped Stanton River 49-0. And P.H. over Glass. And Brookville beats Allegheny. I went to the Brookville game. Oh, you did? Yeah, my mountains cousins, they They cheer. So we went out there to cheer. Okay. Or to watch them cheer. You know, obviously I watch football. Yeah, yeah. So, no, they got a couple. Their quarterback's pretty solid. Yeah. Yeah, I enjoyed watching him play. They got this one kid. His number was five. He seemed like he was the most athletic person. On the field. Yeah. That's what it seemed like. Is that one of Logan's kids? And Logan had two kids there? He does, but they're zero and three. Okay. One of them got hurt, but I think it's that he ended up. being fine um but yeah logan's kids are solid too wasn't it also like hall of fame day it was hall of fame day um we didn't make it there for the hall of fame inductions i'm not sure if those inductions are just recognizing them we didn't make it there for that because it started a storm and they actually um they sped up that portion uh it started like 6 or 6 30 and got everybody out of the stadium while the storm came through so they started a little bit late. Gotcha You reminded me something in the story about going to watch cheer. So Perry played football when he was younger. So we went through the whole jump part, rec football, FYI thing. Well, then Riley, when she came through later, she cheered. So I was used to at halftime going to like concession stand when you go. Didn't you have the ice cream car? The first game, I realized, oh, wait a minute. The point of me being here is to watch halftime. I have to watch my daughter perform. The games were incidental. Have you guys watched any of tennis in any of the U.S. Open? Are you tennis fans? Oh, I have. I view it the way you kind of bring up how you watch NASCAR and really the U.S. Open is the same for me. It starts out great. You fall asleep. Yeah. And you wake up. It's like the set five. Like last night, it ended at like 315 in the morning. Ridiculous. But it's just me. I played tennis growing up. I played in high school. I enjoy watching it, but it's one of those. It's relaxing. Yeah. Like last night, I actually had it on. I read. Yeah. And Joey said, what are you doing? So I'm reading. So you got TV on. So it's tennis. Yeah. Yeah. And just see the score. And then when it gets intense. And if you hear a long rally, you can just rewind or watch that. And it's like 27 hits. You're like, oh, my gosh. So, yeah, I watch it almost the same way. But I've been a U.S. Open fan probably since I was a sophomore in high school. I mean, I love tennis. And I probably came in right when McEnroe was going out, Jimmy Connors was going out, Sampras was coming in, Agassi was coming in, and it was a good time for American tennis to watch all of that. Michael Chang was my favorite. Oh, my gosh, he was great. And that kid, Tien, I don't know if you saw, but we had this Asian kid, not to say Asian and Chang, but I said that to Warren. I was like, man, it kind of reminds me of Michael Chang. And he goes, well, that's his coach. So Michael Chang has a school where he's trying to, uh, increase the presence of minorities to play tennis. And this kid has come to the school of T Michael Chang. And he made it, he's the, he's made it farther as the youngest player in a long time in the U S. So it's kind of cool to watch him play, but it doesn't look like Michael Chang at all. I mean, he looks like he's like a high school football player, almost kind of a big dude. Um, So that was kind of interesting. But the U.S. Open has been great. It's been some great matches. And that's a bucket list of mine to go see like the first week. I'd rather see the first week than the second week because you can kind of walk around freer and just go see different events and players. So that's kind of a cool thing. What night was the Williams sisters? Everybody was watching that. They had the. Women's doubles on center court at primetime. I can't remember what football game it was. We were all just texting each other, turning off the football game and watching the Williams sisters. It was so good, and then they blew it. They were up. They had a tie break. I think it was in a tie break to win, and you have to score 10 in the tie break to win the third set at the U.S. Open. And they were up 5-0 and then lost like 10-7. They kind of blew it. But that was like Friday night or Saturday night. We're watching it. And so we always ask Alexa, Alexa, how old are the Williams sisters? They're 46 and 44. And they played a girl that was 20. Yeah. And the 20-year-old was just getting. She was falling apart. It was getting so big for her. Like the crowd was getting. And you just felt bad. Like as you're getting into some sports. I mean, that's just, you just felt for you. Like you wanted her to win for that because if not, it would have crushed her. If you watched a little bit last night where Tiafoe versus some unranked American. Yeah. And it went four sets, and it came five sets, and Tiafoe came back and won. Yeah. At the handshake, the guy just started crying. Yeah. And Tiafoe's, I guess, the biggest thing this guy's ever been in. He was just like, he was done. Yeah. After it was over, he just lost it. He had two match points to win, and he blew it. And Tiafoe came back and beat him. Yeah. Yeah. So now it's Tiafoe versus Shelton. It's the first time a U.S. So cool. Will have somebody in the finals. Yeah. And both of their careers need to be launched. Like, they've had great moments in their career, but not... Winning moments. And this is a chance. And they have to face each other in the semis to then win against the number one guy, Medved or something like that. So US Open has been fun to watch. There's something new that I've seen in the US Open this year that I've never seen before. It was on a couple ladies. They have new logo placement. And if you've seen it, it looks like pasties. I have not seen it. I'm not kidding. It was, like, unbelievable. The lady last night that played at UVA, she lost in her match. Navarro was her name. And her outfit, I was like, oh, my gosh, what are they doing here? And so that's the second lady I've seen on this U.S. Open. I don't know what's going on, but somebody's going to– I can't believe Billie Jean King would let that happen. So let's see. Any other sports? So in local news, which I think cracks me up sometimes when I just hit WSET and try to See what's going on local because I don't watch local news very much. I watch national news much more than I watch local. But this headline got me and I think it would get any one of you. A man, Derek Beard, faces 139 charges of hiding cameras in dressing rooms across the city. So this dude, I guess, was putting cameras in dressing rooms at different places. So I remember the story. He had it as a pen. Yeah. So the pen had a camera in it, and he would just drop it into the– he'd go in there and just put it in the changing room. Is this like the same thing that happened last year, and he's just now getting brought up on charges? I think what happened was last year he was brought up on five charges, and now they've added 134 as they have kept– because some of those charges, if you can imagine, as they're watching the videos, I'm sure some of it now is with miners that had walked in and changing clothes in these places. And so he had done it specifically at Dick's, Kohl's. Millie's, The Muse, and Plato's Closet. This dude was getting around. Yeah. Derek Beard was his name. I didn't get his age. Is he a local guy? He looked like a young dude. He looked like his college age. Yeah. They said he worked at Dick's when he did that. Oh, did he really? Mm-hmm. What's Millie's? Millie's is that little yogurt place that's in Windhurst. It's like the Health Nut, connected to the Health Nut. Really, really good, man. It is good. We'll go there once in a while when we're trying to feel healthy. Shout out to Millie's. Just don't go in the bathroom. Yeah, don't go in the bathroom. Wait, so was he putting these in the toilets, I guess, in Millie's? Because Millie's doesn't have clothes. Yeah, I don't know what he was doing. I guess he was leaving it. Yeah, what would it be? He was probably dropping it on the ground. Yeah, just trying to spy on people maybe? That's weird. I have no idea. Same with the muse. Oh, he is a young cat. What? You got him? You hadn't heard this story either? Yeah, I have, but I didn't realize it was like the muse. Dude, I'm not leaving my house. Yeah. Just look around for small pin cameras everywhere you go. Eight counts felony unlawful filming of a minor, seven counts felony possession, and then 120 counts of misdemeanor unlawful filming. Wow. Apparently it's supposed to grow from there as they keep watching these things and expand on what his things are. I can't imagine owning a business and if you'd hired him to work there like dicks, what that must be like. That's going to suck. He looks frightening. This is mugshot. Flat cameras, just to follow up a little bit of last week, it sounds like they have almost everywhere around here, they've either been suspended or reduced in our area. The Lindsey Clancy thing, I'll just throw this out here. We do have a little video and have at it. We've got a little clip of that. But if you guys had not heard, it was a hung jury. So she was not found guilty or not guilty or not guilty by reason of insanity because of one hero would not give in and find her not guilty. The other ladies wanted her to be and a couple of guys on the jury of the 12 wanted her to be found not guilty or not guilty of insanity. But he refused to give in. So I've got a really good clip of that. Have either of you guys had jury duty? No, I'm too young so far. I haven't gotten that piece of mail. I got that mail yesterday for the first time. You're kidding. No way. Yes. I've never gotten one. Me either. That's loud. Huh. Yeah, no, I mean, I haven't either. I don't think either of my parents have gotten them either. Now that I think about it. What do you do? You get a call out of work and whatnot? Well, I guess now, depending if anybody locally hears it, I probably have to go now. Yeah. So they give you a piece of paper, you fill it out in your name, and there's certain reasons why you can't. Like if you're a felon or you're traveling for work and so on, which I'm neither. So I'm hoping I don't get picked because, I mean, the way you make it sound, that could be pretty, I mean, you're in the jury room. It can get pretty nasty. And that's what it made sound like with the Clancy thing where it's like even some of the people were saying that they were just going at each other in the room. It's just I can't imagine going to a big case and being like sequestered for months. I suggest when you go that you walk in with a hoodie and a crib Like you're a cryptkeeper. A sickle. So they choose you. Like they send it out to whoever and they choose whoever they want? It's supposed to be random. It's like a luck of the draw. So they don't just send that. And if you're registered to vote, I think that's one of your duties. Yeah. If you're registered to vote, your duty is to sit on a jury if you're selected. So a lot of times you're not, but if you get selected, then you could be sequestered. And you get like $ 17 a day. You got to take off work and you get literally like, 15 20 bucks yeah. Right i had a teacher that had to do it one time and it lasted a couple weeks where he was just in the morning time when they would you know do whatever they're doing my. Mom just texted and said my sister who's 21 lives in clemson got requested for jury. Duty oh really it might be me and her. No no no she's traveling. Right yeah oh she can get out of it yeah i'm about to. Say she's literally in grad school i don't think how come your mother has not Chatted to the live chat? I don't know. She should know after you call her out. She put that in the live chat. Well, Kevin's calling in soon. So that's on Facebook? Yeah. That's when the video clips will go up. Yeah. My mom did a jury duty for Bedford. It's on YouTube. And it was a murder case. I remember that. Oh. Yeah, I don't want one of those. Yeah, she said it was terrible. Give me a pickpocket case or something like that. I don't want to face somebody down the. Road. Hang him! Chop his hand off. I will not be the lead juror either. Not the foreman? No. All right. And then I guess let's jump into the win-win-win. This is Trump on the midterms. We're going to win-win-win, and we're going to make America great again! I'm going to take the final 30 days, maybe a little bit more than that, because it's all about 35 races. Some of you guys are leading by so much. Please don't make me go to your area. If you're leading by 40 points and you've been there for 25 years, like the speaker, he leads by 42 points and he has it made. Please don't ask me to come to your area and make a speech. But I'm going to go to every one of those 35 places. And we're going to see if we can get everyone elected. You know, I think it's work that we're going to do the teller. We're going to do the teller town halls. They're fantastic. They work amazingly. And we speak and we can do seven or eight of them, 10 of them, maybe a night. And we're going to really work hard. So we're going to take that little that final 30 days. You don't want to go too much before that because people forget. But we're going to take that final 30 days, Mr. Speaker. So I'm relying on you guys to give me some names. So. Just a little discussion about what he's going to be doing the next 60 days. So big, big, big election. Obviously, if he loses the House, he'll be impeached. Hopefully he doesn't lose the Senate. But Ashley has came on in. Thanks for the chat, Ashley. You should be enjoying your 20th anniversary go online and answer the questions for jury duty so she's giving you some advice here she says go online and answer the questions for jury duty you may answer in a way they don't pick you i don't know you could do that to hell with them i'm gonna have to say i have a podcast date one day All right. Um, Hey, and before we leave about what's happening and the end of the show today, um, I'm playing something from this, but I didn't, I didn't want to let this go. Um, because, and maybe we can talk about it next week when Brian wants to do it, but today is a nine, nine and obviously in two days, it's 25 years since nine 11 and Travis, were you even born? I knew you're going to ask that shit. I was born in 2001, but I was born in November 2001. So I, was not. There yeah and emma you definitely i wasn't even in the womb yeah yeah so so this is a common question amongst people of our ilk and age and i know i'm older than jeff but um do you remember where you were jeff. I was i remember i was washing my car i was working at umbc at the time and i had to go in at like noon uh for an event and i was washing my car listening to howard stern And Howard Stern's broadcasting live. Oh, wow. That's what's going on. In New York. In New York, where Stuttering John walked in and came running in. Somebody just flew into the towers. And then somebody flew into the others. And then at that time, my wife, Julie, she was living in Arlington, which is four exits past the Pentagon. So she heard it hit the Pentagon. Oh, my God. And so when I would go visit her probably for the next four or five months, as you drive by the Pentagon, you can't see anything. It's on the backside. But as you drive by the Pentagon, you can see smoke for like four or five months coming from the ground of the Pentagon. Wow. But, yeah, I was washing my car, listening to it all on Howard Stern and just dumbfounded. Yeah. It's one of those events. I mean, it's a Mount Rushmore discussion, a topic that we could do of where were you when and what news event that that would have happened. But for me, it was I was doing an inspection. of foundations that I used to do for mobile homes back in the day. And I was coming back and I don't think, I don't think I had a cell phone even then. I, I think I got, I got to the office and Tanya called me as I came into the office and I answered the phone and she said, have you seen? And I was like, no, I have no idea. And she goes, you gotta, you gotta get to the news. And so I think when she told me what happened, I think I went home just to watch the whole rest of it. And that was, I don't know, the second tower. I think the second tower had gone down. All that had happened, and I didn't know any of that had happened. The second tower had gone down. I went home and didn't rest a day. It was just so depressing. I mean, that's one of the few nights where you basically watch the news at 2, 3 o'clock in the morning, just watching it over and over. I woke Tanya up at 2 in the morning and told her I was going to enlist in the Marines. I had been, that was guilty in my life that I had not done that. I had enlisted in the Marines. I was going to the Marines instead of go to college. And it was just eating on me. Whoever did this, now I'm going to go, whatever. I ended up not doing it. We had babies. Man, it just, it wore me out. It just ate on me. So that was a big day. My mom said for the first time in 33 years teaching, she has students who don't know about 9-11. That's sad. Yeah. That was a reading I heard on the news today where there's only like 10 or 11 states where they talk about 9-11 in history class. Wow. Wow. Where it's required to talk about it. And then, you know, I know your group today is a little different than the one I have with Brian, but one thing that really irritated me this week was it's– and I don't care that– and honestly, I do not care that New York would elect a Muslim. That does not bother me at all. What does bother me is the guy would sign whatever paper he did this week and take the pen that he signed it with– and purposely go past the person next to him to hand the pen to the police chief to hand it to his friend. That's been a defense attorney for, uh, terrorists. And I just thought, man, you're going out of your way to rub it in the face. I saw that clip. It just, it's a disgusting. So, and speaking of that, let's, uh, killed by an immigrant KBI. So this was, um, Interesting news, and I don't know if you guys had heard this, but when I was going through the somewhat local news, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador was sent a detainer request by ICE in Loudoun County, Virginia. So that kind of hooked me to see, ooh, what's that news about? Because Virginia refuses to give in to ICE now that we have a new governor. After Loudoun County picked up this guy for distribution of fentanyl to students at Parkview High School in May 2026. The result caused multiple overdoses. So I couldn't tell by overdoses. Does that mean these kids died or not? The article was awful about it. So Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said that they would comply and hand this guy over. So I thought that was interesting. They just were afraid. I guess the politics would be too much about that. But. And again, the article never, like you were saying earlier, Jeff, you read all the way through it and the pertinent information that I think you would want to write is not there. Yeah. So you don't know, did the guy kill these people or not, but it was enough to make them turn this guy over to ice to have him detained. So that is our pleasant story, pleasant part of the show. I wonder what the percentage would be of people who actually overdose who die versus who can recover. Yeah. You know, I, People live, we're very lucky to have what we have in our lives. And I was talking to a kid that was an acquaintance of my son's. And what he grew up in Appalachia, Virginia, was unbelievable. He's actually used Narcan to revive his father. That meth is taken over so badly in Appalachia. And somehow this kid made it through, which was so cool, but It's gotten his sister. It's gotten his mom. It's gotten his dad. Really? It's unbelievable. Wow. So that's a good, cheerful story. Yeah. They're bringing us up now. Yeah, yeah. Let's do the POW, Post of the Week by an Idiot. The Trump administration wants people to release their birth certificates to prove that they are not undocumented. Undocumented. I want the Trump administration to release the Epstein files to prove that Trump and his friends are not pedophiles. So they will not let go of that story. They continue to try to keep throwing it up because they think that it works. But it's just getting crazy about that. And before we get into the Mount Rushmore, I thought about this segment because I texted Brian and Brad about this this week. So I want to ask you this thing and I'll give you an example here to kind of give it to you. But Things that irritate you or have irritated you. So this happened to me twice in a row on Tuesday. Go to pick up the dogs from the kennel because Emma is too busy to watch the dogs. So I have to take them to the kennel. And it's after a meeting, so I'm going between a meeting and the office, but it's right by the general care animal facility. They do a great job. Love those guys. Dr. Stevens, she's great. So I pull in, and it's an empty parking lot. This is great. So I go to get the dogs and a lady of all the spaces parks right next to my truck. So I'm like, certainly you know that people are bringing animals in and out of their vehicles. Why would you park right up next to where? And so now I've got to get on the other side of the vehicle to get the animals in. So that's the segment of what has irritated me. And then it happened exactly the next spot I was at. Where was I? And somebody did the same damn thing. I was like, Why can't you just be aware? I actively search for either side. You're a cushion of protection. Yes. Either side. I actively search even when we go to Target. Yeah. You know, that place is always packed. I walk a mile before I'll park next to somebody. Yeah. I do the same thing. I just don't like it. It's a cushion of protection. Yeah. You drive a nice truck. I fold my mirrors in. You know what I mean? I'm trying to be courteous to other people, be aware. But I certainly wouldn't pull in right next to somebody knowing that they're probably loading a car. Yeah. You know? Anyway, that is a segment. You should change this segment to get off my lawn. Oh, man. You got to have something that irritates your story. I do, but it's all right. Go ahead. All right. So I'm 6'5. You're amongst friends. I'm 6'5. Yeah. So when you go in a locker room, usually there's three urinals, two high, one low. Yeah. And you're right over there, Emma. That's it. Sometimes they split the difference with the middle one. I'm just thinking of a funny story. So being the 6'5 guy having to use the smaller urinal when there's a 5'5 guy next to me using the tall urinal, that irritates me. I watched a great clip somewhere where the guy did a video. of a test for his wife, which urinal does a man use? So he's sitting there and he's playing the clip and he fast forwarded to where a guy standing at number one and another one standing at number four. Do you pick number two or do you pick number five? It was something like that. And she got most of them right. But there is a process when you go in there, Emma. That sounds like it. No, I know. My boyfriend had a horror, like not a horror story, but similar. Well, what was it? Well, we were at a bar in Clemson. And for some reason, there was open urinals on like, there was a gap. Like a trough? I don't know. Like at Virginia Tech, they got the truck in the back. She just hit her face. I don't know. She's all embarrassed. But there were like four, and he chose the one at the end. Well, the guy, the other ones were open, chose the one right beside him. Yeah, you don't do that. That's another thing you don't do. He was scarred for life. He never went back. Yeah. No, you always go to the corner. If there's no dividers, go to the corner and kind of angle yourself the other way so you don't accidentally catch a peek. I don't know what you mean by trough. And I don't think. Catch a peek. If you go to a trough, it's actually like one big pig trough where everybody's just dancing. That's usually like football game, stadium type deal where you're going to see a trough. I like being a woman in this one. And you see about 15 dudes taking a piss at once just all in that trough. Devil's backbone. I don't know why. And they also put ice in it. Oh, they do? Yeah, they load it down. Yeah, they do. How fast it can melt? I don't know. Oh, my God. Yeah, the other one. The other one just like that. I said I went to another place. Car wash. Car wash. You got all the vacuums, you know, to do that? You got a vacuum on either side. Cushion of protection. You got a vacuum on either side. Why do you pull up to the next one? There's six of them open next to you. Just because of the distance to the rag that you have to clean, you know what I mean? Oh, yeah. Why'd you pull right up next to it? Your door's going to be open and my door's going to be open. Especially at Zips. At Zips, they got 47 vacuums. So just go somewhere that's not with me. Maybe she just wanted to see me vacuum out of my car. Let's see what you got in there. It was Get Off My Lawn. You know what? That might be the name of this segment. I'll see if Brian wants to do that. Get Off My Lawn. All right. On to Mount Rushmore. Bumper? It's still in the works. I'm sorry. Woody, if you're listening, I need my bumper. All right. So this was kind of a cool thing this week. The Mount Rushmore for this week was going to be Sports Heartbreaks. And obviously I got that from this weekend, thinking about what it must have been to be a, what are they, Broncos? I think they're Broncos. Yeah, they're Broncos. Western Michigan. Western Michigan. Yeah, to be one of those guys. So I was thinking, what in my life would be that devastating, what are the losses that were in my history? So, Jeff, do you want to jump in first? I can. So I got, this one was thrown out by my wife. West Virginia football, West Virginia University all the way. Lives and dies of West Virginia. So 2007, they were the number two team in the country, and they played Pitt in the backyard brawl. West Virginia's figured by 15-20. It's supposed to be a blowout. Thanksgiving Thursday. West Virginia loses 13-9. Pat White gets hurt. McAfee misses two kicks. They drop the ball in the middle to win the game. She went to bed crying. I stayed on the couch, and I was like, I'm like, it's just a football game. She goes, you don't understand. And I'm like, all right. See, I've never– I didn't go to a school of football. I'm never a big fan of like you love Alabama. You really love Alabama. How can you tell? The text I get from you and your dad. So I just watch sports to watch sports. I don't really get invested. So there's a couple things was there was Super Bowl XXV where Scott Norwood mixed the field goal. Do you know Scott Norwood? Jam, you're right. Oh, no, I didn't know that. And he lives in Northern Virginia. He's bringing it. Reggie Miller, the Reggie Miller game where Spike Lee, I mean, that wasn't heartbreaking to me. Yeah, it wasn't heartbreaking to me, but the Knicks were devastated. But I look at it for more of a personal thing, like the most heartbreaking game ever was two years ago. J.F. 's women's soccer. I was there. State quarterfinal. This is when, for some reason, VHL decided to say, hey, we're going to split up. 4A where the East plays the East and the West. So, JF's number two in the state. Blacksburg's number three in the state. My daughter's playing goalie. Go to double overtime. They lose in the last 30 seconds because some ball just went squeaking by. And the guys played right after. It was a football crowd. It was packed. And the place was dead quiet for 20 minutes. Yeah. Like, even while the guys were warming up, they didn't put music on because the place was just devastating. Yeah. That was at Blacksburg? It was at JF. I was going to say. It was a JF doubleheader. Yeah. And like I said, they were like number two in the state, and they didn't get to the state, the region final, so they didn't get to play in the states because they switched it around that year. That's right, yeah. They didn't want people traveling to Charlottesville. Yeah. But that's for me. Those are good, man. That's awesome. Yeah. I'll add one to my list after your story. Yeah, that's cool. What you got, Travis? So I'll piggyback off of that one. 2018. LCA baseball. We got to the regional semifinals. The team was elite. I was on the team. I did not play. I was a sophomore. And we lose to William Byrd four to three and sent just shockwaves to the VHSL baseball community. And Salem ended up winning the state championship that year. And we would have ragdolled Salem. Yeah. That was super unfortunate. Yeah, that one hurt. Anyways, I will piggyback on last week. Yes. Miracle on ice. Okay. The Soviets, that was a pretty big heartbreak because, you know. You mean for the Soviets? For the Soviets. For the Soviets. Travis was rooting for the Russians. I was like, what are we doing here? You heard the speech. You caught me? Nine times out of ten, they're losing. Yeah. But not tonight. Yeah. Yeah. The 2011 World Series, that was a pretty big heartbreak for the Texas Rangers. They had two chances on last pitch, two strikes to close out the series and ended up losing that one. The 2015 Super Bowl. Who was in that? That was the Seahawks and Patriots. Oh, yeah. I see if you were a Seahawks fan, you would be devastated. Oh, yeah. I mean, you're on the one-yard line. You got Marshawn Lynch. Also. Going back to Super Bowls. Still the dumbest call in the history of football. Yeah, it is. I could understand how irritated you might be on that one. Going back to Super Bowl XVII, 2017 Super Bowl with the Falcons and the Patriots. Yeah. 28-3. That's got to kill you. It's still hurting, yeah. Yep. And then my number one of all time, because this near and dearly affected me, was the— I know. Where he's going. The 2013 Iron Bowl. I knew exactly what this one was, too. That's like, for me, that's the Twin Towers. I know exactly where I was. Oh. You know? That's like, you know exactly where you were. Now, are we talking about the kick, the catch from the— Kick six. Yeah. Chris Davis. Yeah. You know, freshman kicker. Yeah. They put one second back on the clock. Oh. So that Alabama could score and win. Well, so it was— he had run out of bounds. Yeah. And I think it was just like he ran about, you know, stepped out at one point. That was the original referee's clock. Yeah, the original referee's clock. So they went back and looked at it, actually put a second on the clock for, I think it was like a 59 or 51-yard field goal. You know, these field goal kickers now, there's, you know, kids back in the day couldn't hold a candle to them. But, yeah, young kids supposed to have a strong leg, didn't kick much that year because we were blowing everybody out. And, yeah. Emma? Mm-hmm. You have any sports heartbreaks? I thought you meant deaths. Like who's died? Yeah, I wasn't very specific. Well, who does she have on that? Did you have any of the deaths? Yeah. No. Okay. I just made the post. I guess I should have asked Chad. All right. So apparently the people that did read that still knew because I got some really cool things here. So Chris, who is a big UVA fan, he messaged me, UVA losing to UMBC, the 16 versus the one. That was a heartbreak. I'm sure it was. And I'll take that the opposite way. I spent 25, 30 years at UMBC. My dad worked there, and I worked there. I was at the casino in Baltimore, and it was one of the greatest nights of my life. That's awesome. I mean, awesome for you, but it was a hell of a— I mean, so in my list, too, things that actually physically depressed me that actually really depressed me. That was one of those. That was like a year for me. Well, obviously they won the next year. Yeah, they won the next year. But it was like– it was just so– every now and then I think about it and it would just be depressing that they were the first one to lose to a 16. He's got the Texans losing. I forgot about this game. You guys might remember this. In 2020, the Texans– and he's a Houston Texans fan. They lost to Kansas City after being up 24 to nothing in the 2020 divisional playoffs and lost to Mahomes 51-31. Wow. Wow. So this was his personal stuff. I remember this like it was yesterday, too. The Pirates losing to the Braves on Francisco Cabrera's single in the ninth inning to send the Braves to the World Series in Game 7 against the Pirates. Was this in 1996? It was in 1992. 92. Yep. So that was a big thing because it was Barry Bonds and Bobby Bonilla trying to get into the World Series. You know who pitched Game 4? Is that the game the Braves won? I don't know. So the Braves do win. Yeah, the Braves won it all. Is that where old-ass Sid Bream was running around? Sid Bream is running around, yeah, and can't make it to home. And Barry Bonds throws a dart, but it's a little to the right. Yeah. And he slides in and makes it. Didn't Sid Bream go to Liberty? Sid Brim did go to Liberty. Yeah. It all ties back. So there is another Liberty alum that pitched and started. I think it was game four. It might've been game two, but it was baseball coach at Liberty Christian Academy, Randy Tomlin. Okay. Yeah. Very cool. He's got Aaron Boone's walk-off homer against the Sox in game seven of the ALCS in 2003. And this would have made my list too, except his list. He already had it on there. It, was a dagger in my heart when Jordan showed Byron Russell to win the NBA finals and got away with a push off. And, uh, and the, the bulls ended up beating the jazz in the finals. And for mine, I'm going to jump in here. I've got now this is, I thought about Jeff being here because he will probably remember this, but this did actually literally depress me. I'm pretty sure it was 1984. Mary Decker losing to Zola Budd. There was such hype about that race. And I think they both ended up not winning, but Zola Budd had tripped Mary Decker. And Zola Budd was this runner. She ran barefoot. She was from South Africa. And they had this big thing, Mary Decker being the American has to beat Zola Budd. And it just depressed the crap out of me that His old bud tripped her, and the race never finished. She didn't beat her. She didn't trip her. I mean, his old bud was ahead of her. You can't trip her from behind. She stepped on her foot, like the back of her ankle. She tripped her from my vantage point. So Mary Decker fell. It kind of goes in your realm of thinking about this. I wasn't old enough to know about this, but I was old enough when I started learning about sports that this depressed the country for like 10 years. The 72 Olympics. The Russians added time back on the clock to beat the Americans. Doug Collins, I think, was on the American basketball team. And so we had won gold every year in the men's basketball in the Olympics. And the Russians kept missing the shot. But somehow the refs would put more time back on the clock until they finally made the bucket to beat us and then celebrated like they had done something. 72 Olympics. Russians over the U.S., that sucked. I remember Earl Campbell was my first real hero with the Houston Oilers and Dan Pastorini. And they lost, caught a touchdown to win the game, but it was called out of bounds. It was before replay. And so they didn't make it to the Super Bowl. That was devastating for me. And my mom reminded me of this story. My brother, who does not follow sports, we were watching Georgetown UNC. In Georgetown, we lived up in Northern Virginia. And Georgetown, at the top of the key, is dribbling out the ball to shoot for the final seconds. And I think it was James Worthy steals the ball. But it's because the guy that's dribbling at the top of the key literally just looked at the UNC player and threw it to him. Fred Brown. Fred Brown. My brother got up and went. We didn't even know he really cared about sports. He was rooting for Georgetown the whole time. We were rooting for UNC. So my mom reminded me of that one. And you talked about wide right. Florida State. Yeah. Remember how big that was against Miami? They did twice. Yeah. Kicked a field goal wide to the right. And you also reminded me of that story about Molly is when Perry lost to GW Danville. Yeah. I was there. I was depressed for a year. It just ate on me. It was so bad. And GW ended up winning the state's. And we had just beat them the week before, so they were ready for us. And what also really sucked about that was GW Danville, the only reason they got in that game was a kid hit a three at the buzzer to be able to play us. And if he hadn't, we would have beat that other team from Riverside, and there was no doubt in my mind. So there's a chance we could have made the States. I want to tie one back in to kind of what Emma said as well. Yeah. The death of Len Bias. Death of limb eyes. Being from Baltimore, being from Maryland, I remember where I was and all that. And that just devastated everybody up there for months. Devastated me, too. I was the same exact way. And for you guys, it probably wouldn't be, but Dale Earnhardt Sr., when he died, that was, like, depressing. I'm going to turn it morbid. I always do. It has been kind of a morbid half hour. We need to kick it up a notch. Yeah. And Brian did send in his list. That's surprising. Yeah, it is surprising. But he was being a smart aleck. So I'm going to read the ones that I think are actually legitimate. And I do remember this. And if I was a Cowboy fan, this would have really pissed me off. Do you remember when Des Bryant, was it Des Bryant? Yeah. Caught the pass in Green Bay and dove for the touchdown. Yeah. And they didn't give it to him. Because he had the ball on the ground or something. Yeah, I think it was. They changed the rule after that. So, yeah. That was one. I mean, it was obvious to him. And then Duke losing to UConn last year. Didn't they have like a big lead or maybe it was two years ago? They had like a 20-point lead. I remember I was watching that game. They had like a 20-point lead. Yeah. And then UConn hit this like 30-footer and won it. Or no, no, no. Was it 30-footer? Yeah, the freshman. And it just felt bad for the kid. Yeah. It just felt bad for Duke. Like I said, I look at more from the person emotion side. Yeah. Like, how do they do Little League World Series, man? How much pressure are you putting on these 12-year-olds? I don't think the Little League World Series should be on TV. I mean, just watching them lose and see their life just get crushed, and you're just like, this is brutal. Yeah. All right. And I guess we get to the best part of the show. I just got three things to say. God bless our troops. God bless America. And gentlemen, start. Your engines! Oh, my God. I just love doing this show. Brian just said, how about we start a new segment called Get Off My Show? He wins. Yeah, that was great. All right. I forgot to play this for the sports kickoff thing, for the football thing. This is my favorite clip of all football coaches anywhere, and I try to play it annually. And I guess I got so excited that Jeff was replacing Aaron this year that I didn't do it. And then I didn't think about it last week, but I got lucky to come across it today. So we're going to start out with Little Kitty Cat. Slip across the road. Our door's open. Screen's broke. We need to get a new screen door, but the screen's broke. So you come in through the screen, but you can't get back out of it. I turn and look. There's a little kitty cat in our kitchen. So I said, what are you doing in here, little kitty cat? By that time, the cat turns, tries to get back out. That scream won't go that way. Cat starts going all crazy. And I told our players, we need more dogs. Bo's barking in the back. I have to go shut Bo up. Mel's like, what's going on? I said, it's a cat in the house. Cat in the house? I said, yeah, it's a cat in the house. So I told our players, I tried to let it out the front door. Cat's still going crazy in there. And I told our players, you need to be more like a dog. We don't need a bunch of cats in here looking in the mirror. I look good. I got my extra bands on. I got my other shoes up. Be a dog. We don't need no meows. We don't need no cats. We need more dogs. We need more dogs. I was a Coastal Carolinas coach at that time. So I just felt bad that I hadn't played that for the football show. So we got it in today. All right. If Kevin calls in, just let him jump right in. And I'm checking my messages since he yelled at me last week, but he's not texted today. So do you want to, since we can skip 20 and go to number 25, can we do that? All right. This is I'm going to call this. Thank God for Batman. After you listen to these two ladies that were on that jury. Reasonable doubt. He admitted he had reasonable doubt after we watched that video of the interview. I think that's what it was. He admitted he had reasonable doubt, and I started filling out the forms. I was so excited. I actually, there were three forms I had to fill out, and I started filling them out. I wrote my signature on each one, and then he said, but I'm still not going to say that she's not guilty by reason of insanity. He would not interact with us and try to understand. We read to him on numerous occasions the definition of reasonable doubt from Judge Sullivan's instruction. He actually said one day in the end, well, why don't we have the judge come in and read it again? And we were like, no, we have it in front of us. We don't need that. And we would highlight it. And, you know, so-and-so, this is the definition of reasonable. But he had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children. Man, I know I'm treading water with two people who don't listen to this show all the time and know, but there was a time when Biden was our president and they kept saying, The existential threat to our country are white men. And they would just make up this thing about racism, all this stuff. And they made it sound like all of us were patriot boys. I'm telling you, the liberal women that run things, that woman was sitting there trying to, those two ladies were sitting there trying to beat up on the guy that would not let that lady go after murdering her kids. And they were both making it sound like the guy was the guy was the problem. The guy on the jury. So let me get this straight real quick. Yeah. They all said that it was because of insanity. Yeah. That's what they said. She's innocent. She's not guilty because she's insane. Because of insanity. Yeah. Now what happens to her? Does she just continue about her life? Does she go to an asylum? What happens at that point? Usually what ends up happening is you get institutionalized until they make you better. And then once you're deemed better, you're released. So John Hinckley, for example, is now out of jail. After he got killed– after he tried to kill Ronald Reagan and he did shoot Brady that– well, he also shot Reagan. He was found not guilty because of insanity, but he had to go to a hospital. And it was a political thing, but he was in the hospital for a long time. But he literally is out of jail. I mean he's out of the hospital. So that's why they– that was their fallback was saying, hey, she's insane, so just throw her in an institution. And then she comes out. Yeah, and left the institution. And then whatever miracle happens to her. This guy was like, no way, she killed three of her kids. Yeah. I don't care what happens. She did the act. And so he's the one that's getting beat up on, which I think is kind of ironic. Any Kevin yet? Mm-mm. Okay, so I'm going to jump into another one here. Can we go back to 20? Mm-hmm. I think you guys will find this one interesting. So. We talked about this this week in history a couple weeks ago about Colin Kaepernick. It's been 10 years since he did the kneel. So let's hear about the study that this guy did about Nike and see if you notice that he misses anything about the issue of Nike's stock today. 18 years in the S & P 100, Nike is going to be removed at the end of this month. The stock price has been absolutely obliterated and is down 80% from its record high. shedding more than $ 230 billion in market cap. Lots of things went wrong over the past several years, including but not limited to this. They attempted to go direct to consumer because they had better margins, but this gave competitors more shelf space, and brands like Ahn and Hoka did really well. They also got rid of specific categories for lifestyle and sports. So instead of having tennis, basketball, running, and so on, they just had men, women, and children. McKinsey, a consulting firm, advised them to do this, and they quietly reversed this terrible decision. Nike started pushing digital marketing to retain its existing users rather than traditionally using that money to drive demand or acquire new customers. From a consumer standpoint, I haven't purchased anything directly from Nike in over 10 years. Their stuff is overpriced, cheaply made, And doesn't fit well. No. Did you notice he left out? A huge political thing? Right. Half the country doesn't buy your shit anymore because you went woke. Literally. That's what's going on. All right. Is he on? Hanging around like a loose tooth. Why are my dentures in the ice tray? It's Carolina Kevin. Oh, it's that guy again. My man. That's why you broke, broke, because you went woke, woke down that tree, tree, because it was me, me. What's up? My man. Say hello again to Travis and Jeff this week. Kevin. Kevin. Kevin. Yo, yo. Thank you. Well, how was your weekend, George? Oh, Emma, don't leave her in the light. Don't leave Emma like she's a caboose. Good Lord. Emma, I think highly of you more than that. Thanks, Kevin. At least you started out nice this week. That's been a welcome surprise. Did you watch any football this weekend? Yes, sir. Anything stand out to you? What's your thoughts on the Hail Mary for Western Michigan and Michigan? Oh, it's games is going to be controversial every year. It's the same thing. I mean, you can't have a season without one or two or three or four or 10 or 12. You can't fix it. What's your thoughts on should or could? The Big Ten, the NCAA say, hey, the clock stopped, so we're going to give the victory to Western Michigan. Is there any thought that that could have happened? No, I think of it this way. Regardless, if you're going to throw a Hail Mary ten times, well, ten times out of ten, your defense should jump up and smack it down. Period. End of discussion. Well, there we go. End of discussion. End of discussion. Let's wrap it up here. Pretty much that guy had to have been a high school high jumper, don't you think? Well, they came out saying to watch this one guy. He's got the hands. And so their receivers ran and just basically pushed all the defenders out, and this guy trailed them and just wide open for them. Wow. He made a hell of a leap to catch that. That was a good catch. So, Kevin, we had our Mount Rushmore today, and I know I didn't text it to you. I probably should have. But if I had to ask you, If there was a sporting event that devastated you, that was a heartbreaker like that, if you were a Western Michigan fan, that you were watching and you had to give a top five of something that you remembered that it just pissed you off or depressed you, what would be a game that comes to mind, a game or two that comes to mind? I would say probably the Cowboys when the catch was made, 49ers. Oh, man, that's a great one. You're talking about Dwight Clark way back in the day? Or are you talking about, well. I don't know. Yeah. Yeah, Dwight Clark. Right in the very back of the end zone, he jumps up and caught it. The catch. You ever seen that? Travis, you ever seen it? No, I haven't. Pull it up, Alan. Joe Montana's throw to Dwight Clark. Back of the end zone. Pull it up, Emma. Pull it up. It literally changed the two dynasties, honestly. Throw to who? Dwight Clark, right there. What year was this? Probably... I'm going to say 72. I was going to say 79-ish, 80. I just said 82, but I don't know. But we'll see it in just a second. So that was a good one. My second one. My second one would be probably watching it live where Earnhardt Sr. wrecked and ended up dying in the daytime of 500. Oh, yeah. Yeah, exactly. They just showed the play. That was a heck of a play. Disappointing for. Sure. Now, just like what you said about UMBC winning. I hated the Cowboys so much. That's one of my favorite top five plays that I've ever seen that I loved. I just like the Cowboys as well, so, you know. Yeah. You know, your brother brought up one for the Cowboys that probably had devastated you, too, possibly. Was the time that Dez Bryant made the catch to beat the Packers, but they wouldn't give him the touchdown? Oh, yeah, when he dove and caught it, and they said the ball was moving. Yeah. Yeah. I'm trying to think of a Redskins. So I did think of a Redskins. You just reminded me. I was in my mind. It was the Redskins. I don't know that they ever had that one play that was devastating, but when I was a kid, I was such a big Redskins fan, and I knew we were going to win another Super Bowl. We were playing the Raiders, and I was afraid of Marcus Allen. I literally thought there's no one that can catch him. I know Daryl Green can catch him, but I don't know if anybody can stop this guy. And he ran all over the Redskins and just crushed us. And I knew I was going to have to go to school the next day and hear all kinds of trash talking. That's why I don't trash talk today, actually. I hate doing it. It just irritates me. I just couldn't stand it. How about Joe Theismann? It scarred me for life. It did scar me for life. Yeah. Joe Theismann, I guess, when he broke his ankle or broke his shin guard. Shattered him. Yeah. That sucked. But Joe Theismann was kind of also a hard guy. I liked him, but he was a hard guy to like. So. If that makes any sense. He was a good quarterback. He won Super Bowls, but he was just such a kind of an arrogant dude. It was sort of hard to like him. Only the Redskins fans liked him. Yeah. Yeah. He was all right. What about Baker Mayfield getting paid? Oh, what happened there? They signed him today? He got like three years. What was it, 160? Yeah, three years, 160 million. Yeah, three years, 160. Wow. Good for him. And I just seen him on a commercial, on the Sonic commercial, and a Pizza Hut commercial. He's blasting all over the TV. He's making money, isn't he, Kevin? Has Kevin seen your Kentucky. Fried Chicken commercial? And over 50. He probably remembers when I was on the Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial because he probably made out like everybody else did. Yeah, I got one time a little bit of his royalties. He got a mailbox. He bought me a beer at the Mud Puppies one night. So, yeah, I felt a little bit of it. It was free money. I literally spent it on drinks for everybody. It was like, man, I got another check. Let's go out. How much were the checks? They would be $ 0. 25 here, $ 1. 14 there. uh, $ 25 here. And it just kept adding up. It would be my mailbox would be full of checks. So it wasn't 15,000 at all. One time. Every time I played on a commercial. That's gotta be one of your top five. Was that mud puppies when the Cowboys and it wasn't the Eagles and we went chest bumping and it was crazy. That was absurd. That's not one of my top five horrible stories moments though. If it had been a red skin, maybe, but yeah. Where was mud puppies? Well, What's at Mud Puppies now? It was on Old Force Road. It's in that complex. It's probably not there anymore. It was right there near where Walmart is now. So I'm not sure if it's even there, the building. But it was a good place. Was it Applebee's back behind where Applebee's was on Old Force? Yeah, right in that area. We got the Rise Dispensary there now. Yeah. Yeah. Brian has not given me his picks this week. And just to let you know, at Darlington, you were third again with 46 points. Brian had 44 points. And I had a pretty good week. I had the third and the fifth guy at 28 points. So, currently, you're still third. Kevin, who do you have this week? Good, Mike. Good. My disguise is working. Your disguise is working. It's a really good disguise. Who do you have this week? I'm going to send you a screenshot real quick because you're going to be like, well, why would you do that? That's not right, Kevin. You shouldn't do stuff like that. Okay. I can't wait to see this. Who do you have this week? Oh, I'm going to send it to you because you and Brian always give me shit about different things. So I'm just going to. Go ahead and send it right to you. Can we get it on the screen? Nope. I'm waiting for it to populate here. I'll jump on it as soon as I see it. So whenever I give you all my picks, I give you picks because I'm going to pick like a player in basketball. I'm going to pick you so the other team, the other guy can get up and shoot the ball and score points. So when I give you all my picks for racing, I do the opposite and go on FanDuel and send my money to Dylan and he bets. So I won a hundred bucks off of Christopher Bell. Yeah, you did. That's a pretty good pick right there. So congratulations on your win. He was just showing me that he won the race last week. Although he did not pick that on the Podcast. Podcast. Yeah. So who are your picks this week that you would bet on at the, this race is called, it's really called weird. The wide world. I saw you added that on there, right? What? Who would you bet on? Yeah. Yeah. Not my pick, but who I would bet on. Yeah. So Brian just sent his picks in. Say hello to your brother. Who did he pick? He took. Lugano. He took Ross. Hamlin. He took Ross Chastain. He took Ryan Blaney. Blaney. Yeah, that's who I got to. And Ryan Preece. This is that worldwide of sports track or something. Iowa, right? It's in Illinois. Madison, Illinois. Oh, Illinois. That was great. So Ryan Freese. Yeah. So I'm taking Blaney, Byron, and Gibbs. I think Larson's going to have to come out. I believe he's going to come out this week on top. He's got to. He's got to step his game up or he's going to be out too far gone. So I'm going to pick him. And I'm going to go with complainer that complains all the time. That's Bubba Wallace. Okay. And then I'll go with Barry. Gosh, Barry, B-E-R-R-Y. Thanks. That's my pick for Mr. Swift. Let me ask you the over-under, the odds that Keselowski knocks Hosovar out of the race this week. What are the odds that he does that? I don't think it will. You don't think it will? Nope, not this race. I bet you 90% chance. It'll be in Bristol. Oh, you think it will? It ain't going to be this race. It'll be in Bristol. It won't be here. You should look forward to that. I will look forward to that. Yeah. What shirt do I need to buy at Bristol this year? Who do I need to cheer for? I was Blaney last year. How'd he do? Top 10, I think. All my buddies were cheering for Chase Elliott and he wrecked. I would do Hosovar. Hosovar? Yeah. That's my buddy. That's my buddy Colby Tucker. If Kozlowski doesn't wreck him. He'll be a hero at Bristol. I'm thinking it's going to be... You remember... You remember years ago, uh, Kansas, he got Matt Kansas, you know, in Martinsville. Well, you know, it could have took place the race after that, but his confrontation, it was done in Martinsville, like two or three races. It was at a short track. You remember that Trent? Yeah. You have to have the opportunity to, so it's a little harder to do it at these bigger tracks. Yeah, that's correct. Hmm. Hey, I don't want to go past and ask you this question. I asked the adults in the room, the older adults in the room, where were you on 9-11? We got two more days before the 25th anniversary. Do you remember where you were when that happened? Richmond, Virginia. I was in a hotel room because I was working up there, putting air conditioning on. And storage units for Bob's storage units. And I was up there in the hotel room, got up. I was in the lobby getting caught. Well, they got the continental breakfast. They had a TV up there. And I saw they said something was happening. And I thought some plane was just kind of flying around. And then all of a sudden, the second one hit. And that's when I knew. And I didn't even leave there because in Richmond, Virginia, capital of Virginia so they didn't know what was going on and it was like cops all over the intersections it was F-15 planes flying over helicopters it was like crazy so I just stayed at the hotel all day and watched it on TV. Well you got any words of wisdom to leave us. With Uh, well, only one thing I'm sitting here by myself and in South Carolina, it, it all makes sense. Now, Superman, single Batman, a single Spiderman, a single, I get it. Now I'm single because I'm a super. Oh my God. He never fails. And yes, the, the amount of people go up whenever he comes on the air, it's unbelievable. We do have a couple more chats here. Um, Laura did type in any of the Redskins versus Cowboy games in the early 80s under Coach Gibbs. Those must have been the devastating moments for her. And there were some. It was just like we could not find a way to beat them. And yes, she does give Kevin a cheer. Mom loves Kevin. He has his own fan club. He's got to have his own show. Can he do two hours? Oh, my God. Yeah, but he might not talk but 20 minutes. He should be live on air for their hour 40. My man. Hey, before we go to the end of the show, I do want to play this one thing here. This was eye-opening. I saw it. This is Stephen A. Smith, so I'm going to jump to 35, Emma. This is Stephen A. Smith. Listen to what he talks about, why he moved out of California and the taxes. But how they got him to pay taxes is eye opening for us who love freedom. Listen to this. Takes a little bit of time, but listen to the end of this. New York was at around 9 percent. California is approaching 13 percent. Now they're at 13.6 percent. Gavin Newsom had his way to be by 16.8 percent. See, these are things that I've been paying attention to. And so I'm looking at it, and I'm like, you got California state tax. You got Los Angeles city tax. You got L.A. county tax. And then here was what really, really did it. This happened to me two years ago. They said, look, because I was going to have to spend some more time out there. They got me doing NBA countdown, and they decided that we were going to do NBA countdown more so from L.A. Than anyplace else. Okay, fine. So anytime I'm in the state of California, I'm getting taxed that day. So I'm sitting down with my estate planners and all of that, and they said, look, when the weekend arrives, it would be in your best. Interest to go to Vegas or to Utah or something. I said, why? And they said, well, if you stay in California, you know, IRS, they ping your phone. So anytime you get a call or you're on the phone, they know that you're in the state. Wow. And that counts as a day. And I said, you got to be kidding me. And sure enough, when I saw my tax return, It was absolutely correct. And that's why I said, you know, I remember years later, man, you know, a couple of years ago, I look at Gavin Newsom, who I've spoken to a couple of times. And I'm like, you know, you look beautiful in those blue suits. You look very presidential. And get my vote. You told him this. Damn right. Because these damn taxes. So if you didn't catch what he said there, and this has happened, and if you've followed sports enough, you'll know. the Toronto teams have a very difficult time. And when Montreal was in Montreal, and I guess maybe the hockey players, they have a difficult time getting free agents because of the taxes. And so LA and reading up in this a little bit, the city of LA and the state of California, they really hit players hard. And I think it was last year, the Superbowl quarterback paid more in taxes by winning the Superbowl than he made at the Super Bowl. Darn old, yeah. Yeah, that's what I had seen when they play. It's like your game tax. Yeah. Yeah. And so one of the things is when you get paid, the day you get paid where you are, some places realize, take that as you got paid today, you need to be paying this entertainment tax. So he, being an entertainer, has to pay the entertainment tax on top of the other taxes that they have. He doesn't want to go to L.A. Huh. So they have a hard time, and that's why you'll see some of these salaries are outrageous at certain places because of the tax they have to pay. They can't get free agents to come there. There's a story today. Matthew Stafford going to Australia. So his game check will be $ 2. 2 million. He has to pay Australia $ 960, 000. Oh, my God. California, $ 293, 000. While paying the government $ 814, 000, he's paying $ 1. 25 in taxes out of his $ 2 million salary. I wonder if that's why Darnold doesn't want to go. Potentially. Makes sense. Yeah. If I'm going to lose money going, why do I want to go? How about the NFL be smart enough not to send him down there? Yeah. If that's what the repercussion is. Yeah. That's wild. I just was shocked by that, that the taxes are like that. And that is why Stephen A. now lives in Florida. He's looking at the governors. He's smart. He's not an idiot. Yeah. So, anyway, thanks for coming on the show. Appreciate you guys. Thanks for having us. It'll be awesome. I have glass. Maybe we can break the records. Yeah, yeah. Maybe the combination of all of us listening can get that thing to go even farther up. Repost it, Jeff. Yeah. I need you to just put it on a loop on YouTube like you did last week. To get the views. Well, no, a lot of people don't know this. Jeff is actually my uncle. Yep. Nephew Travis. Okay. I'm trying to think of how that worked out. It's not important. So my stepdad, they're first cousins, correct? So that's Uncle Jeff. I gotcha. He started working, and first day of work, he says, Uncle Jeff. I text my wife and say, I think Travis just called me Uncle Jeff at work. So now he's Nephew Travis. Yeah, and Aunt Julie, too. Well, I thought it was a great show. Thank you guys for coming on. I appreciate it a lot. Um, this last thing is kind of an inspirational part of what happened on nine 11. So three days after nine 11, they're in the rubble and they're trying to clean up and we needed some sort of leadership. It was so devastating. And so George Bush goes to ground zero and did this unscripted. And this is a guy that was panned all the time for kind of being a goofball. This is probably the best thing that he ever did during his presidency, how he did it. And it just totally, totally motivated the country at a time when they needed to hear it. And free-handed doing this. So this is him down at Ground Zero. He's got his arm around the fire chief, who's an old guy there. And he borrows his mic, whatever that speakerphone thing is, and starts talking to the crowd. And I remember this like yesterday. And it gave me chills watching this for the show. And I hope you guys enjoy it. And we will see you next week. I want you all to know. That America today, America today is on bended knee in prayer for the people whose lives were lost here, for the workers who work here, for. The families who mourn. This nation stands with the good people of New York City and New Jersey and Connecticut as we mourn the loss of thousands of our citizens i can hear you i can hear you the rest of the world hears you and the people and the people who knock these buildings down will hear all of us soon. USA! USA! USA! USA!
